Marcy, Thomas
Thomas Marcy, 72, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born September 15, 1946 at Jacksonville Naval Air Station to the late Joseph R. Marcy and the late Jennie Plocharski Marcy. Tommy graduated from Clay High School in 1964. He spent most of his career in the recreational vehicle and pre-manufactured home industries. He started off as a plant worker in Green Cove Springs, advancing to salesman and then plant manager before retiring as operations manager at Chariot Eagle in Ocala in 2009 after 15 years of service.
 Tommy was a self-taught mechanic who loved tinkering with cars throughout his life. Hunting, fishing and NASCAR were other favorite pastimes of his. He was a member of the Clay County Cruzers, through which he met many new people that Tommy would come to call dear friends.
 Tommy is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister; Dorothy Marcy Stemmler. Tommy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anne Lambert Marcy; sons Thomas Matthew Marcy and John Ryan Marcy; his sisters; Christine Marcy Pacetti (Jay), Linda Marcy Ledbetter (Steve), Jeanie Marcy Browning, and Patty Marcy Bennett (George). He is also survived by his close nephew Eric Stemmler (Kathy), dear and lifelong friend Eddie Knight (Cathy) and a host of other nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
 Tommy’s free advice and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.
 Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2019 at Lake Asbury Baptist Church with Pastor Len Schowalter officiating. A visitation will was held at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial followed in Russell Haven of Rest.

Megonegal, Edwin “Russ” Russell
Edwin “Russ” Russell Megonegal of Fleming Island, FL passed away peacefully on June 21, 2019 at the age of 97.
 He was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 21, 1921. Mr. Megonegal was part of America’s Greatest Generation serving his country during WWII and the Korean War in the Army Air Corps, the Air Force and retiring in 1973 from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard with the rank of Colonel. He was a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and Temple University. Mr. Megonegal had a long career in education in Pennsylvania as teacher, assistant principal, principal and retiring as assistant superintendent of the William Penn School District.
 He and his beloved wife, Tigger, retired to Lake Mary, FL in 1981 where he served as a commissioner for the City of Lake Mary. He and Tigger made Clay County their home in 1991 and immediately became ensconced in their community. Mr. Megonegal’s service to Clay County was boundless. He served on the Clay County Planning and Zoning Committee and the Board of Penney Farms Retirement Community. He was actively involved in many charities including the Rotary Club of Green Cove Springs, J.P. Hall Charities, the Clay County Salvation Army Advisory Council, the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs, the Republican Club of Clay County, the Republican Executive Committee of Clay County, the DePaul Society of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Clay County Fair Association.
 He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs. He had received many awards for his public service including the Clay County Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 and the Boy Scouts of America 12 Points Award in 2019.
 Mr. Megonegal is survived by his children, Nina Wunderlich (Tony), Eric Sather and Wayne Megonegal; grandchildren, Emily Wilson (Blake), Krista and Rachel Sather; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Madeline Joyner; and Virginia Hall (Mark) who was like a daughter to him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian “Tigger” Megonegal and his son, Richard R. Megonegal.
 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs with Reverend Mark Hults officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to one of the many charitable organizations he was proud to serve. J.P. Hall Charities and Salvation Army of Clay County being two of his favorites.
