Bailey, Mrs. Betty Wynonia
Mrs. Betty Wynonia Bailey age 80, of Starke passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011
at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville. Mrs. Bailey was born on July
29, 1931 in Branford to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bascom Bradley and was a
retired House Parent from Tacachale. She was a member of the River of Life Church
of God. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Wilson Bailey. Survivors
are her children: Jeffory Bailey (Gail) of Lake Seminole; Tom Bailey; Janice Bailey;
Paul Bailey; and Tina Bailey all of Starke; brother: Edward Bradley of Fargo, GA;
grandchildren: Nicole Brantley of Atlanta, GA; Jessica Bailey of Sneads; Sumer Bailey
of Grand Ridge; Tom Gregory Bailey, Jr. of Starke; Angela Megan Horad of Lake Butler;
Mia Thompson of Lake Seminole; great grandchildren: Jade Patterson; Caden Bailey of
Sneads; Savannah Dillard; William Dillard; Samantha Hall all of Grand Ridge;

Baker, Elizabeth Brown
Elizabeth Brown Baker passed away on March 6, 2012. She was born on February 19,
1925 to Edna Elizabeth Miller Brown and James Raymond Brown in Wheeling, WV. She was
the mother of three children, Elisabeth Annette Summers (Steve Howe), Anita Lee
Fussell (Bob) and Richard Louis Baker (Diana). Elizabeth was a graduate of Andrew
Jackson High School Class of 1942. She attended Mt. St. Agnes Jr. College and St.
Joseph’s Infirmary School of Nursing where she was a Cadet Nurse during World War
II. Elizabeth married her husband of 67 years Louis Baker, Jr. in 1945. She was
predeceased by her parents and her older brother William Henry Brown. Mrs. Baker
is survived by her husband, Lou; her 3 children and brother James R. Brown (Clydie),
9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She loved
things of beauty, especially those made by God: flowers and trees, birds and
butterflies, people and music. Her service in the PTA, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts
and her beloved Altar Guild were blessings to her. A memorial service will be held
at the Good Samaritan Anglican Church, 3813 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL on
Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 3:00 pm with The Reverend W. Hall Hunt officiating. A

BAKER, ROBERT GILBERT "BOBBY"
Robert Gilbert “Bobby” Baker, 56 of Middleburg died Wednesday, September 28,
2011. Mr. Baker was a native of Jacksonville and a resident of Middleburg
for the past 26 years. He retired from the trucking business and worked
with Pritchard, Modlin and Old Castle Trucking Companies as well as being
self-employed.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Jodie Baker, two daughters Kim
(Justin) Cooper and Kari Baker, two sisters Karen Dowell and Brenda Dallas,
his parents Robert and Lauvern Baker and one granddaughter Callie Cooper.
Memorial Services will be held 6:00 pm Monday, October 3, 2011 in the Russell
Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Visitation with the family
will be from 5:30 pm until 6:00 pm Monday evening in the church.

Mrs. Justa Romulo Bala, 92, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Monday,
September 12, 2011. She was born on July 19, 1919 in Luisiana, Laguna,
Philippines to parents, Julian and Francisca Romulo. She was preceded
in death by her parents as well as her husband, Maximo Bala who died in
2003. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Wilbur R. Bala (Esperanza) and
Rienzi Bala; daughters, Liberty B. Sabino (Mario) and Jocelyn Bala;
grandchildren, Leizl, Jennifer, Kristine, Marybeth, Warren, Gretchen and
Shannen and great-grandchildren, Mira, Tristan, Zorin, Jarren and Jack.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2011 in

Balducci, Mrs. Patricia Diane
Patricia Diane Balducci, 57, of McGehee, AR passed away Monday, December 5, 2011,
in Little Rock, AR. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on March 21, 1954, to the
late Charlie J. “Red” and Annie Mae Lastinger Jones. Tricia graduated from the
University of North Florida and majored in Elementary Education and Early Childhood
Development. She grew up in First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL and was very
active as a child and teenager. She met her husband Ed at FBC Jacksonville during
college. Tricia and her family were very active and committed Christians who
helped many others know Christ. While growing up in Florida, she enjoyed spending
time with family and friends at White Sand Lake in Keystone, FL where they built
lifelong memories. Besides being very active in children’s ministry, she loved to
pour her life into the lives of other women. She taught a ladies’ Sunday school
Class while they were at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock. She
also led a Women’s Bible Study in McGehee. Survivors include her husband Dr. Ed
Balducci of McGehee, son, Evan Balducci of Little Rock, daughter Gina Bennett and
husband Chris Bennett of Little Rock and two grandchildren, Macey and Katelyn
Bennett of Little Rock.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in McGehee.
An additional visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a funeral
service beginning at 3 o’clock on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at JONES-GALLAGHER

Bardsley, Mr. David F.
Mr. David F. Bardsley, 53 of Green Cove Springs passed away on Wednesday, March 28,
2012 at the Acosta-Rue Hospice in Jacksonville following an extended illness. David
was born on January 6, 1959 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Bruce Edward and Virginia
(Hall) Bardsley, and was of the Nondenominational faith. David had worked as an
Electrician and in the maintenance area for many years in a traveling circus. He
loved making the children laugh and smile. David also lived a very free spirited
life and enjoyed it to the fullest with his family and friends. He is survived
by his wife of 37 years; Linda (Plank) Bardsley of Green Cove Springs and his
daughter Bethann Bardsley of Lake City. His Stepsister Peg Crosbie of Majencia,
Indiana and seven grandchildren also survive David. There will be a private Celebration

Mrs. Oleta Bacon Barrow 75, of Keystone Heights passed away unexpectedly at
North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville on Thursday December 1,
2011. Mrs. Barrow was born on September 7, 1936 in Jacksonville to the late
Franklin E. and Mildred T. (Carter) Bacon. She was a graduate of Landon High
School in Jacksonville where she met and married her high school sweet heart.
Prior to her retirement she was an office manager for Premier Water. Mrs.
Barrow enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, and playing scrabble. She
was also known by her family as a “Professional Shopper”. She is survived by
her husband of 56 years, Joe Barrow and their two daughters; Cindi Adams and
her husband Walter of Neptune Beach, Valerie Cole and her husband Bret, one
grandson; Gregory Cole and one granddaughter; Paige Cole all of Keystone Heights.
She also leaves behind her brother Clinton Bacon and his wife Maryann of
Jacksonville, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and close
friends. Mrs. Barrow loved and adored her family and grandchildren more than anyone
will ever know. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11:00

Alice M. Barry, 95, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt,
friend, and Navy Veteran passed away surrounded by her loving family on February
26, 2012 at Life Care Center on Kingsley. Alice was the daughter of Emil and Martha
Bergh. Predeceased by her loving husband, Philip Joseph Barry, and her three
brothers Ralph, Harry, and Carl Bergh. Survived by her daughter, Phylis A. Morris,
her granddaughter, Tracy L. Morris, and her great granddaughters, Chelsea M. Fowler

BASTIAN, LLOYD FRANKLIN
Lloyd Franklin Bastian passed away Thursday September 22, 2011 at Earl
B. Hadlow Center for Caring, Jacksonville, FL. following a lengthy illness,
Born on March 24, 1921 in Town of Catlin (Mansfield), Pennsylvania,
was the son of Lloyd and Mary Bastian. A decorated veteran of World War II,
Mr. Bastian served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Pennsylvania National
Guard, U. S. Army Air Force and the U. S. Air Force until his honorable
discharge in 1962.
Campaigns included Air Offensive Europe- Normandy and Air Combat
Rome-ARNO Southern France. Medals include Air Medal w/2 oak leaf
clusters European and the African Middle Eastern Service Medal. A
resident of Middleburg, FL, Mr. Bastian is survived by his wife Wanda L.
Bastian. Surviving children are, Lloyd F. Bastian, III, Oxford, North
Carolina, Dr. Susan B. Asselin, Blacksburg, VA, Jeffery J. Bastian,
Tallahassee, FL, Terry A. Bastian, North Reading, MA, Betsy L. Bastian,
Elkton, FL, and 8 stepchildren. Mr. Bastian was preceded in death by
his son Gregory. He is survived by numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Interment will be held at the Jacksonville National
Cemetery on September 30, 2011.
BAUER, JANIE MARIE
(December 8, 1976 - October 18, 2011)
Janie Marie Bauer, 34, of Jacksonville, FL passed away Tuesday, October 18,
2011. She was born on December 8, 1976 in Orange Park, FL to parents James
and Geraldine Looney. Janie enjoyed playing volleyball, softball and kickball
with her friends. She loved Key West, Florida and girl’s night out with
her girl friends. In her spare time she enjoyed baking cakes and cookies
for her family and friends. She was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Florida. Janie was a selfless person who was an advocate for Breast Cancer
Awareness, The Humane Society and the USO Club. Janie will always be remembered
as a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her
parents; grandparents, Jim and Wanda Stacy; beloved friend, Francis Mullaney;
son, Chandler Scott Bauer; brother; Jason Looney and his wife Julianne; nephew,
Jayden Looney; and her much loved companion, her dog “Blake” as well as several
aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 6:00
pm Friday, October 28, 2011 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Jeth

Baugh, Earl Edwin
Earl Edwin Baugh, 64 of Middleburg died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at his
residence. Mr. Baugh had been a resident of Middleburg since 1985 having previously
lived in California. He retired from the US Navy after 21 years of service and most
recently retired as a truck driver after over 20 years of employment. His family
describes Mr. Baugh as a simple man who loved to read, travel, and being involved
in the lives of his family.
Survivors include his four sons, Jonathan, Jason, Martin and Trevor Baugh, 4 daughters,
Lori Ross, Kristina Bockover, Heather (Eddie) Flow and Megan Baugh, four brothers, Miles
Bradford, Mark Baugh, Phillip Baugh and Steve Baugh, two sisters Faye Griffin and Martha
Wallace, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, and the mother of 4 of his children,
Lorri Baugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Baugh in 1977.

BEASLEY, REV. MARILYNN A.
November 29, 1938 - September 13, 2011
Reverend Marilynn A. Beasley, age 72, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011.
She was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois to Sam Dantone and Dorothy May
Buell-Dantone She graduated from Manual Training High School in June of 1956,
married Lawerance D. Beasley in August of 1956 and recently celebrated her 55th
Wedding Anniversary. After being a devoted Air Force wife for 20 years, they
settled in Jacksonville, Florida in 1974.
Marilynn was a dedicated member of the Spiritual Lighthouse Church for 30 years,
became an ordained minister June 29, 1986 and became the pastor of the church
in June of 1999.
Survivors include her husband, Lawerance D Beasley, 3 sons, Lloyd Beasley,
Larry Beasley (Teresa), and Bobby Beasley (Sarah), daughter Laura Pfoutz (Rondo),
brother, Sam R. Dantone (Jan), 6 grandsons, Jimmy Bingham, Billy Bingham,
Cole Beasley, Mason Beasley, Jacob Beasley and Clayton Beasley, 3 granddaughters,
Jessie Whitmarsh (Jason), Sherry Bingham and Becky Bingham, 4 great grandsons,
Keith Bingham, Jon Bingham, Tyler Whitmarsh and Owen Wilson, 2 great granddaughters,
Courtney Gustin and Erica May Bingham and a large extended family. She was also
survived by many close friends, among them Lorraine Thomas and Gail DeChaine.

Bell, William “Bill” Eugene
Mr. William “Bill” Eugene Bell 88, of Keystone Heights passed away on Saturday
December 17, 2011 at the Bailey Center in St. Augustine following an extended
illness. Mr. Bell was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania on December 23, 1922 to the
late Willard and Grace Fleming Bell. Mr. Bell had been a longtime resident of
the Keystone Heights area and was also a member of the Friendship Bible Church.
He had served as a Missionary in Nigeria for 23 years then began working at
Shands University of Florida as a HVAC Mechanic before retiring in 1987. He was
preceded in death by his wife Elsie and his son Robert Bell. Survivors are his
children; Grace Parramore and her husband David, John Bell and his wife Debbie
all of Keystone Heights , Joy Parramore and her husband Donnie of Ocala, sisters;
Ann Bell of Keystone Heights and Carolyn Guarnere of Eagle Point, Oregon. He also
leaves behind his grandchildren; Matthew Bell, Joanna Parramore, William Parramore
and his wife Alicia all of Keystone Heights, Kevin Bell and his wife Lisa of
Illinois and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on January 7, 2012 in the Friendship
Bible Church with Rev. Paul Coleman officiating.

BENNETT, CLAUDE D.
Mr. Claude D. Bennett, 70, of Green Cove Springs went
to be with the Lord Friday February 27, 2009, at his residence following a brief
illness. He was born in Adel, Ga., and had been a resident of Green Cove
Springs for the past 61 years, coming from Adel, Ga. As a young man he
had worked at the Gustafson Dairy in Green Cove Springs. In 2000, he
retired as a maintenance man with J-M Manufacturing in Green Cove
Springs after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hog hunting and
farming. He was a member of the Decoy Baptist Church in Green Cove
Springs where he had served as a Deacon. He was a good man who loved his
family. He was preceded in death by his father, Buck Bennett; his
mother, Mae Mills; a sister, Lola Podbvesik; and two brothers, Felton
Bennett and Tom Bennett.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Loretta Bennett; two sons, Mike
Bennett (Cheryl) and Johnny Bennett (Tonya); a daughter, Sylvia Bennett
(John); five grandchildren, Kristie Bennett; Matthew Bennett; Dawn
Sharp; Kyle Plank and Jackey Bennett; and a great grandson, Kaleb
Bennett, all of Green Cove Springs. Funeral services were held Monday
March 2 at the Decoy Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Baker officiating.
Pastor and life long friend Cecil Hess gave the eulogy. Burial followed
in the church cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent in Mr. Bennett’s

BESELER, JIMMIE DELL
Jimmie Dell Beseler, 82, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Born on March
4, 1929 in Dale County, Alabama, she moved to Green Cove Springs and has
been a resident for the past 70 years. She was a graduate of Clay County
High School and Jones Business College, where she trained as a court
reporter. She worked at the Clay Theater, and with her mother, sold
tickets and concessions; which she enjoyed much more than court
reporting. Mrs. Beseler along with her husband owned and operated
Beseler Motors in Green Cove Springs for 30 years. Jimmie Dell was a
very spiritual woman who loved the Lord deeply. She was a member of
Orange Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of
60 years, Dick Beseler; son, Sheriff Rick (Joan) Beseler; grandchildren,
Sunny Beseler, Tracie (Jessie) McRae and Martin Carlisle. The family
will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday, September

Beseler, Paul Richard "Dick"
U.S. Veteran
Paul Richard “Dick” Beseler, 80, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011. Dick was
born on June 2, 1931 on the North Dakota prairie in Emmons County to William and
Martha Beseler. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving his country in the United
States Navy and transferred to the Atlantic Reserve Fleet in Green Cove Springs
where he would spend the rest of his life. He married Jimmie Dell Bonner on
December 10, 1950 and their great love affair lasted almost 62 years. Dick was the
owner of Beseler Motors which he and Jimmie Dell started in 1957 and they operated
together until retirement in 1981. Dick and Jimmie Dell were blessed with their
only child, Rick and the family shared many great years living on the river in
Green Cove Springs. Dick served three terms on the Green Cove Springs City
Council which included serving as Mayor. While being blessed with good health and
happiness for many years, sad times began when Jimmie Dell passed away in
September of this year leaving Dick broken hearted. Survivors include his son,
Sheriff Rick (Joan) Beseler; grandchildren, Sunny Beseler, Tracie (Jesse)
McRae and Martin (Angel) Carlisle.
The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Wednesday,
December 21, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Mrs. Catherine Bickel, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at
Moosehaven in Orange Park, Fla. She was born to Merle and Mary Anna
Ebeling on July 31, 1919 in Winchester, IN. A Funeral Mass was
celebrated Friday, August 26, 2011 with burial in the Moosehaven
Cemetery. Father Brodie was the Celebrant and Opportunity Chapter held

Nancy Jean Bilello, 74, passed away on February 27, 2012 in Green Cove Springs, FL.
She was born on January 1, 1938 in Hudson, NY to parents Phillip and Lillian
Sweeney O’Brien. Mrs. Bilello was an employee with the Volusia County School
Board for 20 years. She was an artist who attended many art functions in her
community. She also achieved a degree in anthropology and was a member of the
Gold Key Society of the University of Central Florida. Mrs. Bilello was predeceased

Mr. Grady Bythod Bishop of Kingsley Lake passed away at the Haven
Hospice E.T. York Center in Gainesville on Friday, September 23, 2011.
Mr. Bishop was born in Greenville, FL on December 27, 1919 to the late
A.D. and Eula Mae (Butler) Bishop. He had served in the United States
Army then the Army Air Corps. He has been a longtime resident. Mr.
Bishop was preceded in death by his first wife of 61 years, Opal Glisson
Bishop and their granddaughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Bishop. Survivors are
his wife of 7 years, Audrey Bishop; daughter, Linda Toliver (Rick) of
Huntsville, AL; son, Brian Bishop (Carol) of McRae; and one brother, Guy

BITZAS, JEAN CAROL
Jean Carol Bitzas, 71, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away at Island
Hospital on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 with her family beside her. She
was born on April 10, 1940, the daughter of Cameron and Doris (Barlow)
Connors in Springfield, Massachusetts. Jean had seven other siblings
and they were raised in and around the Springfield and Boston cities of
Massachusetts and she graduated from high school in Boston.
She worked hard to raise her four children, Dalea, James, Angela and
Elaine, laboring to continue her education. After most of her children
were on their own, she continued her education received her bachelor’s
degree in Psychology from Westfield State College. It was due to her
determination and caring, compassionate spirit that enabled Jean to
start and operate the very first battered women’s shelter in western
Massachusetts. She went on to administer to the needs of individuals as
a drug and alcohol counselor at Qaurry Hill Center in Massachusetts,
Blue Ridge Rehabilitation in Bloomfield, CT, and after her move to
Florida, at the River Region Outpatient Rehabilitation Center for the
justice system.
In 1998, she made the move to Anacortes, Washington to be near her
daughter Dalea. Jean had many great attributes, specifically her
integrity, she told the truth and she told you like it was.
She was a wonderful role model and mentor to her children, and an
elegant woman. Jean enjoyed gardening, baking chocolate cakes, interior
remodels and singing in the car. Her children remarked that Jean’s
sense of humor and non-judgmental demeanor made her a friend to
everyone. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children
and spouses, Dalea Bitzas of Anacortes, WA; James and Elizabeth Bitzas,
and their children, Nikolette, Stephanie and Gabrielle of Westfield, MA;
Angela and John Runyon and their children Joshua and Nathan of Center
Ossipee, NH; and Elaine and Robert D’Orazio, and their children, Jessica
and Sarah of Middleburg, FL. An intimate gathering of family and close
friends was held on Sunday, September 4, 2011 her home in Anacortes.

Miss Robin Lesley Black, age 33, passed away May 7, 2011. She was born
in Jacksonville, FL, was raised in Orange Park and at the time of her
death was living in Palm Coast with her parents. She was an advanced
soccer player, she seldom went anywhere without a soccer ball. One of
her coaches told one of her teammates that she was the most innovative
player he had ever seen. She was an outdoor person and spent many hours
swimming. Her passion, besides soccer, was teaching children, she was a
preschool teacher at Precious Promises Day Care. She loved working on
crafts and was very talented at whatever she did with her hands. She
graduated from Orange Park High School in 1996. Having no children of
her own she loved her nieces Emily, Lauren and nephews Devin and Caleb
as if they were her own. She was preceded in death by her brother
Stephen Todd, maternal grandmother Joann Grimmett, paternal grandfather
Frederick E. Black, Sr. and maternal grandfather George Lee Grimmett,
Sr. Survivors include her parents Frederick and Sharon Grimmett Black,

Samuel Eugene “Gene” Blackburn, 81, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Wednesday,
February 8, 2012. He was born on September 29, 1930 in Lawtey, FL to parents D.C.
and Salome Blackburn. Gene was a Korean War Veteran, having served his country in
the United States Army. He had worked for many years as an insurance agent for
Gulf Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Sanford Masonic Lodge No. 62 F.
& A.M. and was in the Shrine for over 50 years, having been a two time past Captain of
the Provost Guard. He enjoyed sports, loved golfing and was a devoted Florida Gator
fan. Gene attended Crystal Springs Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by his
family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his
loving wife of 61 years, Kathryn Blackburn; children, Larry Blackburn and wife Lori,

BLEVINS, BARBARA “JOIE” MCDARIES
Mrs. Barbara "Joie" McDaries Blevins, 72, went to be with our Heavenly
Father on May 29, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by family
and friends that she had touched in many ways throughout her life. She
was born on November 17, 1938, in Washington DC to Ralph and Florine
McDaries. She grew up in Burlington, NC then moving to Norfolk, Va.,
where she met and married the love of her life, Phil Blevins. After
spending many years as a Navy wife and being stationed in multiple areas
around the US, they made a permanent home in Orange Park. She was
employed by AT&T and retired in 1989. In 2006, after her husband
retired, she and Phil moved to Summerfield, Fla. The past 5 years in
Stonecrest have been the most wonderful, relaxing years of their lives.
She met many new, wonderful friends who held a very special place in her
heart. She loved spending time with her family, especially her
grandchildren, and also socializing with friends, both new and old. She
was a wonderful quilt maker and enjoyed playing golf and mahjong.
Barbara had a wonderful smile that could light up a room and she never
met a stranger. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Phil
Blevins Sr; 2 sons, Phil Blevins Jr. and Blake Blevins; daughter and
son-in-law, Stacey and Scott Sirdevan; 2 sisters JeanAnn Thomas and
Susie Mitchell; and 4 beautiful grandchildren, Amber, Logan, Carter and
Grayson. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at Hibernia
Baptist Church in Fleming Island on Thursday, June 9 at 10 a.m. with a

Mrs. Sylvia Ann Bliss (nee Pannell) 75, of Keystone Heights passed away
at the Windsor Manor Assisted Living Center on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.
She was born in Durham, North Carolina on December 4, 1935. She is
preceded in death by her father Paul Pannell and is survived by her
husband of 18 years, Gary Bliss; three children from her first marriage,
Charlie (Nancy) Wiggs of Alpharetta, Ga.; Cindy (Ruben) Wiggs of
Raleigh, NC and Linda Sue Wiggs of Ashville, NC; grandchildren, Derek
Christian Wiggs of Athens, Ga. and Morgan Ann Wiggs of Alpharetta, Ga.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She was compassionate about animals
by adopting and caring for dozens of abandoned animals in her lifetime.
She also enjoyed, gardening, dancing, laughing, reading, spending time
with her animals, and was a great cook. A Memorial service will be held
on Saturday June 11 at 11 a.m. in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home

Mr. Edward James Brazier, or “Ted” called
affectionately “Bop” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 98
years old, passed away Tuesday April 12, 2011 quietly in his
sleep. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Louise
(Peggy). He is survived by his children David A. Brazier of
Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nancy M, Brazier Poff of Orange Park, Florida,
four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Born August
30, 1912, the son of the late Maude and Fred Brazier of Norwood, Ohio,

Brnilovich, George Jr.
September 30, 1942 - November 18, 2011
George Brnilovich, Jr., 69, passed away on November 18, 2011. He was born in
Pittsburgh, PA to immigrant parents. Following high school he enlisted in the
US Army and was a member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He served 2 tours in
Vietnam and was awarded a bronze star, combat infantry badge and a purple heart.
George was also a member of the American Legion. He made a career of the miliary
and after 21 years of service, retired as a Chief Master Sgt. During his service
he was stationed in the US and Germany. After retiring from the miliary he worked
for the Very Fine Juice Company in Massachusetts as a dispatcher. He retired from
Very Fine and in 1994, moved to Middleburg, Florida where he worked for Walmart.
For the past several years, starting every July he would grow his beard and
moustache and become "Santa" for the children that visited Walmart.
Survivors include his son, George Brnilovich, III; 3 step-sons: David and Joseph
Bonner and Robert J. Wheeler; a step-daughter, Christine; 3 brothers: Mike, Alex
and Sam; sister, Mimi Karlo; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive
friends 6-8 PM on Monday, November 28, 2011 and funeral services will be held 11 AM

Stringfellow. In her early days, she enjoyed skeet shooting, waterskiing and horseback
riding. She raised exotic birds, poodles, was an avid fisherman as well as enjoying

Mrs. Brown was a former Strawberry Queen of Starke, FL and will be remembered as
a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents,

Mrs. Ruby L. Brown, 87 of Middleburg, Fla., passed away Tuesday May 3,
2011. She was a native of Alma, Ga., and had lived most of her life in
the Jacksonville area. She retired from retail clothing sales after 30
years having worked at Vogue and Harry Sach. She also worked at King
Edward Cigar Factory for 5 years. Her church membership was at the
First Assembly of God Church of Middleburg. Survivors include her
children, Mable (Don) Ragsdale Williams, Larry (Bonnie) Ragsdale and
Richard (Paulette) Brown, 1 brother John Cothern, 7 grandchildren, 16
great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services
were held Friday, May 6 in the First Baptist Church of Middleburg with
Rev. Todd Jones officiating with eulogy and songs by Jimmy Weeks.
Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery of Alma, Ga., Saturday, May 7. In

Steven Albert Brown, 62, of Green Cove Springs, passed away April 14, 2012. Mr.
Brown was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on September 24, 1949 to the late Harry
and Clara (Sumner) Brown. He was an Army Veteran and a Fisherman by trade. He
is survived by his sister, Karen Marshall of New Bedford, Massachusetts and close
friend, Roger Denton of Clay County, Florida. A Memorial Service was held Saturday,

Bublak, Mrs. Ida A. (Parkinson)
Mrs. Ida A. (Parkinson) Bublak, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012
in Palatka.
She was born on February 24, 1922 in Trescott, ME the daughter of the late Maurice
A. and Mary G. (Theriault) Parkinson. She moved to Portland, ME got married and raised
her children there. After a month’s vacation in Green Cove Springs, FL, Ida and
her family moved to Green Cove Springs in 1972. She loved working in the yard,
raking leaves, using her golf cart to pick up branches and sticks. She loved her
pool and swam everyday with all her family. The Bi-monthly cousin’s tea parties
were a great joy to her. She was always active and enjoyed being with her family
and friends. She was a devoted mother, nana, aunt and friend. She will be greatly
missed by all of us.
Mrs. Bublak is survived by her daughter; Sharon M. Blake of Green Cove Springs.
Granddaughter: Krista L. Miller and Family of Green Cove Springs, Grandson; Clay C.
Bublak and family of Greene, ME. Her daughter-in-law: Marjorie E. Bublak of Greene,
ME and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband; Frank S.
Bublak and her son Carl Bublak. She will be buried in the family plot in Greene,

BUCHANAN, PAMELA SUE
Mrs. Pamela Sue Buchanan 45, of Keystone Heights passed away on
Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Shands UF in Gainesville following an
extended illness. She was born in Frankfort, Ind., on February 4,
1965, and had been a substitute school teacher for many years with the
Bradford and Clay County School Board. She was raised in the
Methodist Faith and enjoyed life and teaching children. She is
survived by her husband of 24 years Robert “Buc” Buchanan; children,
Joey Buchanan and Alesha McGruder; Tonia Manley; David Buchanan;
and Nikki Singh; brother, Jeffery Myers; sister, Pattie Snell; and 9
grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In

BULLINGER, ANDREW J.
Mr. Andrew J. Bullinger, 88, passed away on Dec. 30, 2004. He was born in
Albany, Ny. and resided in Keystone Heights for 12 years, moving here from
Ballston Spa, NY. Mr. Bullinger retired from GE in New York after 30 years
service, served in WWII in the US Navy, and golfing was his passion. Survivors
include his wife, Beatrice Bullinger, 4 sons: Ronald (Carolyn), Bruce(Sandra),
Andrew Jr. and William (Jennifer)Bullinger; daughter: Barbara (Walter) Smith;
10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

service at Holly Hill Funeral Home, Middleburg with Father Jose Kulathinal

Mrs. Kallie Earline Burgess, age 67, passed away
Friday April 22, 2011. She was born in Duncan, SC and had lived
in Middleburg for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her son
Herman Edward Burgess, II and is survived by her husband Ed Burgess,
a son Paul Gene Pike, 4 daughters, Carolyn Hendrick, Lorrie Ferris,
Callie Annette Campbell and Lisa Marie Farrell, sister, Francis Bass,
niece, Brandy Burka, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Ms. Mary Kathleen Burkett, 87 of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed away
Monday, August 1, 2011. She was the beloved daughter of Myrtle Dershem,
dearly loved niece of John Dershem both of whom were from Piqua, Ohio,
mother to and best friend of Linda Parrish, Green Cove Springs and
affectionately known as Mary Kay by her friends. She was cremated on
Thursday, August 4, 2011 which would have been the 88th year of her
life. Her remains will be released in the Atlantic Ocean as was her

Mrs. Rose Marie Burris, 54, of Jacksonville, FL, went to be with the
Lord on July 22, 2011. Marie was born to parents, Curtis Gill and Rose
Royce Hood on November 3, 1956. She was a lifelong resident of the local
area and was a Baptist by faith. Marie was a very special angel that
GOD placed on this earth and she had a heart filled with love that was
larger than life. Marie enjoyed cooking, crocheting, growing flowers,
holidays, doing for others, and especially family events. She was
preceded in death by her father and she is survived by her loving
husband of 37 years, Daymon Gerald Burris; sons, David (Ginger) Burris
and Daniel (Johanna) Burris; granddaughters, Alyssa, Gianna, and Aiyana;

BYRD, EDWARD THOMAS JR.
Edward Thomas Byrd, Jr., entered this life on
February 6, 1936 to Edward T. Sr. and Lena Mae Byrd. He left us on
Monday April 11, 2011 in his sleep very peacefully. He was born
and raised in Baltimore Maryland. As a young man he traveled to
different horse tracts tending horses. He was in the Navy for six
years. He later went to work with the city of Jacksonville, on
December 13, 1965. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service
on July 13, 1996. After his retirement he worked at Holly Hill
Funeral Home in Middleburg and then CE Bennett in Green Cove Springs as a
custodian. He was preceded in death by his wives Shirley Joan
Byrd and Sharon Ann Byrd. He loved fishing, hunting and watching
his “Noles” and “dogs”. He also loved watching NASCAR. He is
survived by 3 sisters, children, Mary Katherine Byrd, Edward T.
Byrd, III, and Keith Addison and his wife Louise, 2
grandsons, 8 grandchildren and several nephews and
nieces. Graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM, April
16, in Holly Hill Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Rd. Middleburg, FL
32068 with Rev. Rick Crews officiating. The family will receive
friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Holly Hill Funeral Home.
