GAGNE, MICHAEL
Michael Gagne, 58, passed away Monday July 11, 2011. He was born on
April 2, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL. A celebration of Michael’s life will

GARDNER, STEPHEN G.
Stephen G. Gardner, age 59 of Middleburg, FL passed away on Saturday,
September 3, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He was born August 10,
1952 in Mobile, AL and graduated from Auburn University and later
received his Master’s degree from Troy University.
Mr. Gardner retired from the U.S. Navy following 22 years of distinguished
and decorated service, and later retired from American Airlines.
A loving and devoted family man, Stephen leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Catherine A. Gardner; his sons Gregory Gardner (Beth), and David Gardner (fianceé
Lauren); his grandsons Emmett and Tucker Gardner; sisters Juliana Green
(Dennis), and Anita Hoyt; brothers Lawrence (Marilou), and Paul (Denise)
Gardner; many friends and associates. A Mass of Christian Burial in
celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday September 8,
2011 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1606 Blanding Blvd., Middleburg with
Fr. Andy Blaszkowski, Celebrant. Mr. Gardner will be laid to rest on
Friday at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Family members greeted

GARNETT, JAMES CHESTER
GARNETT – James Chester Garnett Jr., age 76, of Green Cove Springs, a
retired plant manager and United States Marine, passed away peacefully
Thursday July 7, 2011. He is survived by his three sons: William J.
Garnett (Sharon) of Montana, Chet a. Garnett (Rita) of Virginia, Michael
Garnett (Tracy) of North Carolina and daughter Pamela Gregory also of
North Carolina. James also had 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great

GATZ, RICHARD LAWRENCE
Mr. Richard Lawrence Gatz, Jr. passed away on Saturday June 11, 2011.
He was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 28, 1971 to Richard and Carol
Gatz. He graduated from Middleburg High School and entered the
electrical trade where he worked for over 20 years. His best traits
were his warm smile and quick wit. He loved life and lived it to the
fullest. He is survived by his parents, Richard Sr. and Carol; his
grandparents, William and Gloria McKinney; his daughter Megan; two
sisters, Carol Lynn (Mike), Cheryl (Rodney); and his nieces Alex and
Samantha; and nephews Kyle and Austin; and his girlfriend Debbie

Geiger, Clifford "Bud" L. Jr.
Clifford “Bud” L. Geiger, Jr., 82, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Saturday,
December 31, 2011. He was born on May 24, 1929 in Jacksonville, FL to Clifford and
Sara George Geiger. Bud was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and a
Korean War Veteran. He was a decorated combat veteran who was the recipient of the
Distinguished Flying Cross, multiple air medals and other unit and personal awards.
He flew the B-26 in combat in 50 plus night missions. Upon returning stateside he
was an instructor pilot qualified for the T-33 and P-51 Mustang. He was a graduate
of the Ringling Art School in Sarasota and received his Pharmaceutical Degree from
the University of Florida. Bud worked at Mayhugh’s Drug Store in Green Cove Springs
as their pharmacist for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is
survived by his wife, Faye Geiger; children, Mike Geiger (Janet), Jimmy Geiger,
Katie Geiger Terhaar (Mike), Mary Lou Geiger Stable (Chuck), Tina Geiger Kerr
(David), Wayne Carter (Lynn) and Daiseylee Shaffer; brother, Stewart Geiger
(Madeline) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 4,
2012 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm
Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Ronnie
Surrency and Rev. Joe Barrie officiating. Interment with military honors will

GENNARO, ROSARIO “SAM”
Mr. Rosario “Sam” Gennaro passed away Monday July 4, 2011 in Orange
Park, Fla., at the age of 83. He was born to William and Viola Gennaro
on May 22, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. He married Emma Troino on April 30,
1950 in Brooklyn, NY. They had five children Phyllis, Bill, Joan,
Anthony and Robert. He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose
on April 14, 1962 when he joined Hialeah, Fl Lodge #1074. He was a
Fellow. Sam and Emma came to Moosehaven on July 27, 2010 where they
resided for almost a year. Memorial Service was held Friday, July 15 at
the Moosehaven Chapel followed by burial in the Moosehaven Cemetery.

Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Emma Gennaro, Orange Park, Phyllis
(Don) Baldwin of Duluth, Georgia, Bill (Tina) Gennaro of Inverness, Joan
(Steve) Douglas of Scottsmoor, Fla, Anthony (Melissa) Gennaro of Hiram,
Georgia and Robert (Terri) Gennaro of Woodstock, Ga; 9 grandchildren, 5

Gentry, Horace Greeley Jr.
Horace Greeley Gentry Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, November 17th (2011) in Orange
Park, Florida. He was born April 7, 1928 in Munford, Alabama to Horace and
Lillie Mae Gentry.
In 1949 he married Nadine Lamb in Crescent City, Florida, where they resided
for 32 years raising four daughters and owning a successful contracting business.
The next 20 years were spent in Franklin, North Carolina and the past 12 in
Monticello, Kentucky. Horace was a devout christian, husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, daughters Carolyn (Tom) Palmer,
Monticello, Ky., Donna Tulley, Glen St. Mary, Kim (Steve) Bradshaw, Middleburg,
Julie(Richard) Brand, Fruitcove, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and sister,
Doris Gable, Laceys Springs, AL. He will be remembered by many for his devotion to
God and family, generosity, and sense of humor.
Service will be held at 2pm November 20th at Holly Hill Funeral Home in Middleburg,
Florida. Service will be officiated by grandson Russ Bradshaw, minister of Kingsley
Avenue Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the

GILBERT, WILLIAM “BILL”
William “Bill” Gilbert passed away September 26, 2011 in Orange Park, FL
at the age of 75. He was born to William and Agnes Gilbert on December
31, 1935 in New York. He served in the US Navy as Petty Officer Second
Class and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. After his discharge, he
worked at Homestead Air Force Base and retired in 1987. Bill became
affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in June 1, 1984 when he joined
the Homestead, FL Lodge and then transferred to Lake Placid, Fl Lodge
#2374. He received his Fellowship degree on October 28, 1990. Bill and
Carol came to Moosehaven on May 8, 2001 where they resided for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife Carol Gilbert, a Moosehaven resident, Orange
Park, Florida. Step daughters; Dawn Thomas and Debbie (Steve) Bywater;
stepsons, Daren, Denny, Dean and Daniel Thomas. Funeral Service was held
on September 30, 2011 in the Moosehaven Chapel followed by Entombment in

GILL, ALMA
Mrs. Alma Gill of Starke age 90, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at
Windsor Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born in
Starke, Florida and lived here all of her life. She was a homemaker and
was preceded in death by her parents Silas and Emily Silcox of Kingsley
Lake and her husband Prescott Gill. She was also a member of Starke
Church of God for 70 years. Mrs. Gill is survived by her son George P.
Gill, Jr. “Buck” and daughter-in-law Rose; sister: Margaret Simmons;
three grandchildren: Patricia Lemire (Richard); Christina Ortega; Heidi
Lee (Stan); six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; her
church family and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Starke
Church of God located at 2225 N. Temple Avenue on Wednesday, July 13,

Mr. Roy Farrell Gilstrap, age 82 passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at
home in Keystone Heights, Fla., surrounded by his family. He was born in
St Louis, MO to Roy and Mae Gilstrap. He attended Southwest High School
and Washington University. He served in the US Navy and was stationed at
NAS Jacksonville. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church
Jacksonville where he met the love of his life, Ruby. He is survived
by his wife of 59 years, the former Ruby Livingston, a 5th general
Floridian and 3 sons. Harold (Kimberly) of Keystone Heights, Vance
(Karin) of Colorado Springs, CO and Alan (Emile) of Greensboro, NC, 10
grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was a civil designer and
draftsman for Smith and Gillespie Consulting Engineers for 35 years and
retired from Gee and Jensen Consulting Engineers in 1994. Memorial

GLINES, GLORIA ELIZABATH JOHNS
Mrs. Gloria Elizabeth Johns Glines 89, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday,
April 16, 2011 at Westminster Woods Assisted Living Facility.
She was born on September 19, 1921 in Starke to the late Everett Markley
and Thelma Elizabeth Griffin Johns and moved to Jacksonville in 1937 from Starke.
She retired from the Duval County Health Department and was a member of
Swiss Cove Christian Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rankin Summers Glines.
Survivors are her caregiver and friend Vickie Elmore and several
cousins. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from
12p.m. to 1 p.m. with a graveside funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in

Goben, Mrs. Joan Neta
Mrs. Joan Neta Goben, age 77 of Green Cove Springs, passed away, Sunday, August 19,
2012 at Orange Park Medical Center. She was born March of 1935 to the late Clinton
and Neta Mae (Smith) Fountain in Waycross, Georgia. Mrs. Joan had lived in the Green
Cove Springs area since the 1970’s. She enjoyed tending to the flowers in her garden
and sewing.
She was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Bardin.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Fountain.
Mrs. Joan is survived by her husband of 37 years, Perry Goben, a daughter, Betty Warner
of Green Cove Springs, a son, Ernest Page of Jacksonville, 3 brothers, Wendell Fountain
of Nevada, Roger Fountain of Georgia and Ronnie Fountain of Green Cove Springs, 4
grandchildren, Olin McArthur, Misti Hutchins, Neta Mae Page and Amanda Gale Page and
3 great-grandchildren, Travis Wilder, Seanna Wilder and Shoun Outin.

(June 12, 1954 - October 17, 2011)
Deborah Elizabeth Goslin, 57, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away peacefully
on Monday, October 17, 2011. Deborah was born on June 12, 1954 in Baltimore,
MD to parents Donald and Janet Johns. She has been a resident of Green Cove
Springs, Fl for the past year coming from Orlando area. Mrs. Goslin was of
the Baptist faith and attended Lake Asbury Baptist Church. Deborah was a loving
and caring person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but
especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Goslin also enjoyed doing crafts and working
on the computer. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Bruce Johns.
Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Allen Goslin; children, Tammy
Melerine (Stafford), Michael Bowen, Jr. (Darlene), Robert Goslin and David Goslin
(Angie); grandchildren, Stafford, II, Savannah, Jordan, Tyler and David; brothers,

Mrs. Clara Sue Johnson Gowens age 47, of Starke passed away Monday, December 12,
2011 at North Florida Regional Medical Center suddenly. Mrs. Gowens was born on
January 24, 1964 in Starke. She was a homemaker and member of Pine Level Baptist
Church where she worked with the Youth Department. She was preceded in death by
her father Anthony Robert Johnson, Jr.
Survivors are her husband of 23 years Jeffrey Wayne Gowens of Starke; daughter:
Erica Beulah Gowens of Starke; mother: Jean L. Gunter Johnson of Starke; sisters:

Christine D. Gramm, 72 went to be with her Lord on March 3, 2012 surrounded by her
friends and Family. Born on 23 December 1939 in Philadelphia PA, Christine moved
to Jacksonville FL with her Husband in January, 1996. She was predeceased by her
Mother Isabel Beatrice (Doering)Hepp and her father Louis Doering. She is survived
by her Husband Robert l. Gramm of Jacksonville, FL Children, Clay and Elizabeth

Mr. Charles Wayne Green 72, of Starke passed away at his
home on Sunday May 29, 2011 following an extended illness. He was born
on March 30, 1939 in Columbus, Ga., to the late Charlie E. and Waurene
(Yarbrough) Green. He was in Restaurant Management for 25 years and was
also a professional dog handler for 40 years. He had served in the US
Army was of the Baptist Faith and in the Professional Handler’s
Association, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol (Nixon)
Green; son, Martin Green (Jane) all of Starke; step sons, Bruce
McClenathan (Yvonne) of Spring Lake, NC, and John McClenathan (Nadine)
of Mt. Gilead, OH. He is also survived by his siblings, Lamar Green
(Peggy), Zonelle Taylor all of Columbus, GA, Gerald Green (Charlotte) of
Blairsville, GA, Herman Green (Audrey) of Lee, AL six grandchildren,
and five great grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday June

Jeffery W. Green, 62, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed away Monday
July 29, 2011. He was born Oct. 23, 1948 in Jacksonville to the late
Earl Compton and Lillian P. Kelly. He was preceeded in death by his
parents; stepfather, Robert Smitley, Sr., grandparents Vollie Lee and
Lois Kelly, uncle Edwin Kelly and aunt Sandra Kelly Carter.
He is survived by his sister, Valinda (Lindy) Smitley; brother, Robert
W. Smitley Jr.; sister-in-law, Pamela Smitley; nieces: Caitlin (Chris)
Vickers; Bobbi (Donald) Duncan; aunt Susan (Tom) Perkins and uncle Mike
Kelly and their families.

Mrs. Melba Stringfellow Green 83, a lifelong resident of Starke passed away Saturday
December 3rd 2011. Mrs. Green was born in Palatka in 1928 to the late William and Mable
(Carter) Stringfellow. She was a devoted wife, Mother and homemaker. Survivors are
her husband of 60 years Inman Dow Green and their two daughters; Marie Golunka
of Kennesaw, GA and Deborah Ann Crum of Palmetto, FL. She also leaves behind
a grandson Matthew Aaron Alexander and wife Ashley of Palmetto, FL and a
granddaughter Mary Angela Golunka of Kennesaw, GA.

Miss Rachel Leanne Greene, 26 of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away
Tuesday, May 31, 2011. She was a native and lifelong resident of the
Clay County area, graduated from CHS and attended SJCC. She was
baptized in Hibernia Baptist Church. During her life she was a
dedicated mother and will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
Survivors include her daughter, Reece Starling, parents, Timothy Greene
and Tracy Cook, brother, Parker Greene, paternal grandparents Bobby and
Barbara Greene, Uncles Daniel and Jody Greene, Lee, Clay and Jonas

Mr. Robert Alexis Green Jr. or "Buzzy" to all who knew and loved him,
journeyed to heaven Wednesday, June 15, 2011, surrounded by his family
at his favorite place, Kingsley Lake. He is preceded in death by his
parents, Congressman “Lex” and Lucile Green. He is survived by his wife
of 53 years Saundra; his siblings Lu Green Sanders, Dr. William Harris
Green and Michael Andreu Green; and by his three children, Katherine
Marie Green (Kelly) of Atlanta, Ga.; Melanie Green Hancock (John) of
Orange Park; Robert Alexis Green III (Bonnie) of Starke. His spirit
lives on in his seven grandchildren John O'Shields Hancock III; Emily
Marie Hancock; Caroline Green Hancock; Katherine Britt Hancock; Georgia
Ellyn Green; Robert Alexis Green IV and Graham Henry Green. He was born
on June 14, 1938 in Gainesville, Fla. He attended Bradford High School
where he met the love of his life, Saundra. He went on to earn his AA,
BA and JD from the University of Florida where he was a member of Kappa
Sigma Fraternity. In 1963, at 25 years old, he became the youngest
public defender in the state. At 33, he became the youngest circuit
judge in Florida history at the time. He served as a trial judge for 13
years and then as a mediator and arbitrator presiding over many national
cases for the American Arbitration Association. Like his father, he
carried on a tradition of public service. He was a Deacon of the First
Baptist Church, a former member of the Starke Rotary Club, and in later
years a member of the Starke United Methodist Church. In 2010, he and
his wife joined the Penney Farms Retirement Community. Although he
received many professional awards and commendations, he rarely mentioned
these accomplishments but instead directed his energies to the care of
his family and friends. A memorial service was held Saturday, June 18

Barry Dwayne Gregory, Sr., 42, passed away on May 31, 2011 in Fleming
Island, FL. He was born in Jacksonville, FL and is predeceased by his
wife, Belinda. Survivors include his 2 sons: Barry Gregory Jr. and Jacob
Gregory; daughter, Kelsey Gregory; 3 brothers: Bill, James and Shane

Grenia, William A.
U.S. Veteran William A. Grenia, 80, of Keystone Heights, FL, died Monday, February
6, 2012. He was born March 12, 1931 in Irondale, MO to John and Pearl Grenia. He
had served his country in the United States Air Force and had worked as a
maintenance supervisor in the automotive field. Mr. Grenia was a member of the
VFW, the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was
preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Margaret Mary Grenia. He is
survived by his sons, Michael Grenia and wife Lou Ann and Steven Grenia and wife
Jacqueline; sisters, Evalee Myers, Lil Shy and Mary Jackson and grandchildren,
Ryan Grenia, Andrew Dilmuth, Jennifer and Jessica Grenia. A graveside service

Alicia Fletcher Grey, 78, of Starke, FL and formerly of Winchester, VA, passed away
March 17, 2013 in Starke, FL. She was born March 5, 1935 in Irwin County, GA to parents
William George Fletcher and Kate Elizabeth Smith. She had graduated from Warren County
High School in 1953, had moved to Green Cove Springs, FL in 1984 from Winchester and
was a bookkeeper at Mayhugh's Drug Store. She was a member of the West Jacksonville
Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Grey was predeceased by her parents; a son, Ernest “Lee”
Henry; and a brother, William Dwayne Fletcher. Survivors include daughters, Katrina L.
(Tom) Roberts of Starke, FL and Sarita Binsted of Haymarket, VA; son, Earlie V. (Jessica)
Henry of Winchester, VA; sister, Celena (Gordon) Beatty of Ormond Beach, FL; sister-in-law,

GREY, CAROL ANN “KELLY”
Mrs. Carol Ann " Kelly" Grey, 62, of Green Cove Springs, passed away Tuesday,
April 26, 2011 after a 20 year, courageous battle with breast cancer. She lived in
the Green Cove Springs area for most of her life. At age 14, she helped
raise her younger siblings after the death of their mother, Etheleen
Snow Bishop. She graduated in the class of ’66 at Clay High and later
received a Bachelors degree from University of Florida. She is
survived by her devoted husband of 21 years, Rod Grey and her son
Jason Riggio. Her surviving siblings are Darrell Bishop, of Green Cove
Springs, Denise Okie, of Jacksonville, and Cindy Ecker of Palm
Coast. Her loved ones and friends will always remember her as the
fun loving, strong, and outgoing southern belle, who loved Black Creek
and all its' beauty and culture. She received a certificate of
recognition and induction into the Grassroots Hall of Fame from the
Florida Families for Clean Air for her help in leading environmental
action against pollution in Black Creek. She is a self-taught land
developer who named a road on Black Creek “Manatee Point Road” in honor
of her love for God’s creatures. Kelly’s passions and zest for life on
Black Creek will be a lasting endearment to us all. She was a talented
cook and she enjoyed water skiing, boating and reading. In her 50’s, she
learned to play the piano. Most of all she loved her family and our

Mrs. Sarah “Nadine” Griffin, 86, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011.
She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on November 30, 1924.
She was a long time member of Black Pond Baptist Church, and
was a retired school bus driver for the Clay County School Board.
She dedicated her life to all of her children. She enjoyed cooking,
baking, sewing and caring for her family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert
Griffin and her daughter Jessie Randolph. She is survived by her
children, Joyce Bryan, Bobby Griffin, Gene Griffin, Wayne and Tonya
Griffin, Stephen and Andy Griffin, and Lisa and Scott Henderson; fifteen
grandchildren, Teresa Cornett, Ronda Randolph, Ken Bryan, Kim McHenry,

very active and successful realtor with RE/MAX Specialists of Orange Park, FL. She
is survived by her husband, Richard “Rick” Lanier of Middleburg, FL; mother,

Mrs. Ann Scattergood Griffis age 91, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday, September
27, 2011 at Community Hospice, Hadlow Center for Caring. Mrs. Griffis was born on
November 23, 1919 in Emilie, PA to the late Mark Balderston and Jane Eves Haines
Bacon and moved to Jacksonville from Miami one year ago. Ann was a homemaker and
member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove. She was preceded in
death by her husband of over 60 years David Noel Griffis.
Survivors are: daughter: Jane Griffis Dunn of Armonk, NY; sons: William David
Griffis of Estancia, NM; Stephen Noel Griffis of Ponte Vedra Beach; Andrew Bacon

Grogan, Mr. Thomas A.
Mr. Thomas A. Grogan, 89 passed away at Community Hospice in Jacksonville on Friday,
May 4, 2012 following an extended illness. He was born on September 5, 1922 in Vandergrift,
a small steel town in Western Pennsylvania, northeast of Pittsburgh. He attended local
public schools and graduated from the University of Pittsburg in 1942, with the highest
honors. During World War II, he served as a Naval Aviation Supply Officer aboard the
USS Norton Sound, a large seaplane tender, and at the Naval Aviation Supply Depot in
Philadelphia.
Mr. Grogan worked for 3 years for an investment banking firm in Wall Street and served
37 years with the McGraw-Hill Companies in a variety of capacities, the longest and most
recent as Director of Planning and Development, and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions.
He retired in 1985 and moved to Green Valley, Arizona after having lived in Garden City,
New York for 22 years.
He was a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Business and in 1949, received a MBA
degree from the New York University Graduate School of Business. He was chairman of the Board
of Directors (1980-1983) of the Information Industry Association, a trade association of
companies providing information services of the Society of Technical Writers and Publishers
and a member of the Board of Trustees of Engineering Index (1972-1981).
He attended Our Lady of the Valley Church in Green Valley where he served as chairman of the
Parish Expansion Committee and as Parish Representative during 9 months of the construction
of the new church. He was also a past president of the Desert Hills Golf Club and President
of the Desert Hills Estates Homeowners Association.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, whom he married in 1957, and 6 children: Thomas, Jr. in
Fleming Island, Fl.; Patricia Conway, Massapequa Park, NY.; William in Franklin Square, NY.;
Mary Bilardello in Seaford, NY.; Michael in Tucson, AZ.; and Nancy Sturm in Bethlehem, PA., as
well as 14 Grandchildren. Viewing for Mr. Grogan will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 from
7-9 p.m. in the HELM-GALLAGHER Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday,
May 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Donal Sullivan
and Father Robert Rene’ presiding. Burial will be held at a later date at the Arlington
National Cemetery.

Mrs. Jean Francis Gronda, 66, of Middleburg, a retired Health Aide with
the Michigan School System, passed away Sunday July 31, 2011, as a
result of cancer. She was born October 13, 1944 in Ypsilanti, Mi. She is
survived by her loving husband of 33 years; Charles R. Gronda; two
step-sons Craig Gronda of Cheboygan, Mi. and Jeff Gronda of Midland,
Mi., son, Russ Broka of Middleburg, daughter, Robin Frick also of
Middleburg and several grandchildren, Trevor, Jordan, and Kaylee Gronda
of Cheboygan, Mi., Jenna and Hanna Carpenter of Midland Mi., Seth, Luke,
Levi, and Selah Broka of Middleburg and Kierra Frick of Middleburg and
siblings, brother, Joe Keene of La Mesa, Ca., Joan Lapp of Midland, Mi.
and Jude Keene-Martinez of Benson, Az. She was a lover of the Southwest
and all things Native American, a horse and animal lover of her two cats
and her bird, and a fun and generous Grammy. She fought Multiple Myeloma
with tenacity and without complaint for eight and a half years. She
passed away in her sleep, while at Community Hospice of Northeast
Florida in Jacksonville, with her tireless husband at her side. Close
friends and family celebrated her arrival in Heaven with tears,
laughter, and singing the hymn "How Great Thou Art". The family will

Mrs. Eileen Grose, 78, of Green Cove Springs, FL. passed away on
Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005. Born on January 14, 1926 in Appalachia, VA.
she has resided locally for the past four years, moving here from
San Leandro, CA. Mrs. Grose was of the Baptist faith and is survived
by her sons: Joe C. Lawson of Schaumburg, IL. and Curtis L. Lawson
of Concord, CA.; daughters, Joyce Ann Holbert of Fredericksburg, VA.
and Patsy Fay Houldson of Palm Springs, CA.; 11 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.

Mr. Larry Grosso, 86, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009, in the
Moosehaven Life Care Center. He was born to Lewis M. Ursini and
Katherine Polmery on July 23, 1922, in Hamden, Conn. He was a member of
Grace Episcopal Church in Orange Park. He became affiliated with the
Loyal Order of Moose in May, 1971, when he joined the Silver Springs, MD
Lodge #658. He was a member of Legion #155. He came to Moosehaven on
January 13, 1998, where he resided for 11 years. Funeral Service was
held Monday, March 2 and conducted by the Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers
of Opportunity Lodge followed by entombment in Moosehaven Mausoleum. He

Mr. Antonio “Tony” Guarino, 88, of Middleburg, Fla., passed away
peacefully Wednesday morning with family by his side. He was a WWII Vet
in the Army Air Corps and he retired from NARF at NAS JAX in 1985. He
enjoyed his family, friends, dancing, and food and was especially proud
of his brick laying occupation. He would like for everyone to remember

Robert Gulino, Jr., age 42, passed away November 9, 2011. He was born in Brooklyn,

Gulley, Geraldine Helen
Mrs. Geraldine Helen Gulley 71, of Keystone Heights died Tuesday, December 6,
2011 at her home. Mrs. Gulley was born on January 21, 1940 in Brooklyn, New
York to the late William and Mary (Lenzy) Heidelman and was of the Christian
faith. In 1987, she had moved to Keystone Heights from Jacksonville and was a
homemaker. Mrs. Gulley was also a caregiver to her daughter Sherry for the past
ten years, and enjoyed shopping and crafting. Survivors are her children; Jay V.
Heacox, Jr. of Brunswick, GA, Debra A. Hall (Donald Jr. ), Sherry Yrsha, and Helene
Holland (Thomas Boylan) all of Keystone Heights. She also leaves behind her siblings,
Kenneth Heidelman of New York, Marlene Butler (Gerald) of New Hampshire, ten
grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 3:00 P.M.
in the Friendship Bible Church with Reverend Paul Coleman officiating.
