CABRERA, JOSE L.
  Mr. Jose L. Cabrera, 50 of Middleburg, Fla., passed away Sunday,
August 7, 2011.  He was a native of Ponce, Puerto Rico and was 
a residence of Florida for the past 10 years after living in Indiana for 
2 years. He was a member of Fuente de Luz y Salvacion of Orange Park, enjoyed the
gift of music, spending time with family and friends and loved to play
baseball.  Survivors include wife Marta Rentas, 5 daughters Joanna
Cabrera, Yolimar Cabrera, Marta Flores, Jemin Flores and Melly Flores, 1
brother Cesar Cabrera, 2 sisters Doris Cabrera and Milagros Cabrera, 7
grandchildren.  Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 9 at Fuente
de Luz y Salvacion. Burial followed in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.

CADY, LEALOND H. III
  Lealond H. Cady, III, 54 of Green Cove Springs passed away at his home
on Wednesday August 31, 2011. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on June
9, 1957. Lealond worked for a printing company. He was an avid Jaguars
and Steelers fan, NASCAR Fan and loved Lynyrd Skynyrd. Leadond is
survived by his mother Jacquelyn Cady of DeLand, FL; son Joshua Cady of
Fort Eustis, VA; daughter Amanda L. Senterfitt of Callahan, FL; brother
Mark Cady of Orlando, FL; sister Donna A. Hassell of Orange Park, FL and
2 grandchildren. The family received friends on Friday at the
Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Funeral services were held on
Saturday, 9/3 at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand with
Mark Charles Cady officiating. Burial will follow at DeLand Memorial

CAFFARELLA, G. MARGARET “MARGE” 
  Mrs. G. Margaret “Marge” Caffarella passed away on Thursday, 
January 13, 2011. 
  She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years William Leroy 
Caffarella.
 She is survived by, Helen Caffarella; Steven and wife, Georgia 
Caffarella; and Nicole Caffarella; along with two grandsons, 
Lachlan and  Micah. She was born in Empire, Georgia to the late 
John Perkins and Audrey Zurn and was the eldest of four siblings, 
Gwen Rountree, the late Terry Perkins, and Robin Perkins.  She will 
be greatly missed by all that knew her in life. Over her lifetime 
she has shown great love and compassion for all that came in contact 
with her. As we say, “she never met a stranger”.  The world is a better place for 
having had her in it for all too brief a time.  Graveside services were held

CAGLE, LINDA
  Linda Cagle, 53, passed away Friday August 19, 2011.  She was born and
raised in Huntsville, Alabama and moved to Jacksonville, Fla., until
2009.  She moved back to Alabama to be with her family.  She was a
veterinarian’s assistant for many years and also did waitressing for
Barnhill’s and Golden Corral restaraunts.  She is survivied by her
fiancé, Neil Blankenship; sisters, Patty Colbert; Sandy DiFrancesca; and

CALIBO, ROBERT SAM
  Mr. Robert Sam Calibo, 64 of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed away on
Tuesday, June 7, 2011. He was born to Sammie and Pauline Calibo. He
served in the US Air Force and worked for NAS JAX.
He enjoyed restoring classic cars, loved music and reading. He will be
remembered as a great husband, father and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Perez and father, Sammie
Calibo. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Calibo; his two
children, Vanessa and Ryan; two brothers, Richard and Leroy; three
sisters: Gigi, Cookie and Laura.
Memorial Services will be held at the Northeast Florida Community

CALIGUIRE, LINDA CARROLL
  Mrs. Linda Carroll Caliguire, 48 of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed
away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at her residence with family by her
bedside.  She was a native of Quincy, MA and had lived in Florida for
the past 15 years.  She was a hairdresser with Friend and Company of
Orange Park and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.  She
was a member of the Catholic Church.  Survivors include her husband of
22 years, John Caliguire, children Shana and Sam Caliguire, two brothers
Jay and Dennis Carroll, one sister Janice Nelson, parents, Joseph and
Frances Carroll, her grandmother Elizabeth Means, 4 loving grandchildren
and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services were
held Tuesday, July 19 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Fleming

Callahan, Stephanie
  Stephanie Callahan, 46, passed away December 29, 2012.
 She was born in Decatur, AL on August 2, 1966 and had 
lived in the Jacksonville area since 1979. She loved her 
family very much and will be greatly missed. She also loved 
animals and enjoyed reading and movies. She was predeceased by 
her son, Anthony Taylor, uncle, Keith Hall and grandmother, 
Virginia Hall. She is survived by her mother and step-father, 
Ann (Don) Rogers; father and step-mother, Ray (Mary) Russell; 
daughters, Megan and Nicole Taylor; brother, Donovan 
(Windy) Russell; sister, Theresa (Jason) Lovicz; grandparents, 
Carrol Hall and Ellen and Arnold Rogers; numerous nieces, nephews 
and other relatives.

CAMPOS, GEORGE, JR.
  George Campos, Jr., 50 died Friday, October 7, 2011 at his residence.  Mr. Campos 
was a native of New Bedford, MA and had been a resident of Middleburg for the 
past 22 years.  He was a past employee of T&M Electric and is described as 
a kind and generous person who always went to great lengths to help his 
family and friends, may his soul rest in peace forever in our hearts.
  Survivors include his mother, Pricilla Campos, sister, Debra Yuille and brother, 
Wayne Campos.

Canada, Ernest R.
  Ernest R. Canada, 76 passed away on April 5, 2012 after a courageous fight with 
cancer. A longtime resident of Orange Park, he was a member of First Coast Baptist 
Church in Jacksonville, retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Marines Corp after 24 
years of service and recently retired after 30+ years Civil Service at NAS 
Jacksonville, a total of over 55 years in service to our country.
  He is survived by his wife, Sandy Caton-Canada; four sons, Dale, Brett, Bart (Jan), 
and Shawn Canada; one daughter, Sandy Holder (Dave Biasotti); two sisters, Maxine 
Knott, Dody Rinaldi (married to his long time best friend Ralph); six grandchildren
 (Katie, Josh, Will, Andrea, Zackary and Joshua), one great-grandson (Landon), dozens 
of loving nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
  Visitation will be Friday, April 13, from 5-7PM with the Funeral Service following 
at 7:00pm in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Rivermead at 127 Blanding, Orange Park, 
FL 32073, with Pastor Bob Lynn officiating.

Canova, Mr. Louie Clarence Jr.
  Louie C. Canova, Jr. age 98, of Middleburg passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at 
his residence. Mr. Canova was born on October 1, 1913 in Palatka to Louie C. Canova 
Sr. and Katherine Beall Canova. His early childhood was spent on a farm in Penney 
Farms and later moved to Fleming Island near Swimming Pen Creek where Louie helped to 
work the family’s own farm. It was with Louie’s assistance that his father became known 
as the Little Potato King. His mother was the Clay County Nurse and traveled about 
the county while the men farmed. He drove the school bus to Clay High School to attend
school and graduate. In 1931 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp and spent two 
years in the Muscle Shoals, AL area. In 1934 he graduated from diesel mechanic school 
but, returned to work the farm to meet the family needs. He later worked for the 
Frank Huntley Stores and met and married his wife of 72 years Marie Sharpe. Louie 
then moved to Middleburg and became partners with L.E. Gnann. This partnership became 
the Gnann Canova Land and Cattle Company. They operated a sawmill, cattle operation, 
small truck farm and the general store Middleburg Grocery and Hardware. He served 
his community on the Zoning Board, was active in the Middleburg Civic Center, and 
played community baseball for Doctor’s Inlet and Middleburg. He was an active member 
of the First Baptist Church of Middleburg where he served as a life deacon, church
treasurer for over 20 years, and sang in the choir. Louie was a loving and caring 
husband, father and Christian who helped many. In addition to his wife and parents 
he was also preceded in death by his siblings Raymond and Francis. Survivors are 
children: Phyllis Canova Pruitt and husband Sam; Louie C. Canova, III and wife 
Marilyn; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 
at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF MIDDLEBURG on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 10:00 AM 
to 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11o’clock. Interment will follow in 
the Middleburg Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Alan Floyd will officiate. In

  Capo, John Sidney 
(February 26, 1943 - November 1, 2012)
  John Sidney Capo, 69, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on November 1, 2012. He 
was born on February 26, 1943 in St. Augustine, FL to parents Ronald Victor and Evelyn 
Roche Capo. Sidney was a lifelong resident of Northeast Florida. He served his country 
honorably in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Sidney was of the Baptist 
faith and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. 
  He retired as a Historical Carpenter for National Parks. Sidney was an avid 
  Horticulturist  and enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He was a volunteer for the Green 
  Cove Springs Food Pantry and was famous for his Datil hot sauce and peppers. Sidney 
  loved family gatherings and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He was 
  predeceased by his parents; brother, Jerry William; his sister, Barbara Ezelle and 
  step-daughter, Zoeann Moss. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him 
  dearly. 
  Survivors include his loving wife of 10 years, Gloria A. Capo; son, Brian S. Capo 
  (Teresa); step-son, James Lagasse; step-daughters, Linda Dixon (Cecil), Angie Saunders, 
  Becky Clark (George) and Bernadine Gendron; brothers, Robert Capo (Kathy) and Donald 
  Capo (Jeannette); 10 grandchildren, Emily Capo, Mallory and Nicholas Dixon, Josh 
  Saunders, Lindsey Denmark, Amy Harding, Douglas and Chris Hill, Melody Urban and 
  Kimberly Gendron; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyrone, Holden, Joey and Creed.
  Funeral services will be on Tuesday November 6, 2012 at 4:00 pm in the Broadus-Raines 
chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time with Reverend Russell Franklin 
officiating. Military honors will be rendered at the service. In lieu of flowers the

CARRIE, JAMES ROBERT 
  Mr. James Robert Carrie passed away peacefully at his North Carolina mountain top 
home on April 23, 2010 at 82. He was born in Jacksonville,Fla., on January 15, 1929.
 He graduated from St. Paul’s CatholicSchool in Jacksonville and served four years in
the Air Force. He attended the University of Florida and obtained a Masters Degree 
in Building Construction in 1958. He taught at the University of Florida and Lake 
City Junior College then ran his own building construction business until retirement.
  He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marjorie, his five children, 
Cathy King, Robin Carrie-Smith (Glenn), Christopher,Mark (Karen), Patrick (Gina): 
his grandchildren, Daniel and NicholasKing, Kyle and Alexa Carrie, Rachel Smith, 
David Johnson (Billie) and three great grand children.
 A Catholic Mass was held Monday, May 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190
US Highway 17 South, Green Cove Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations to 
Habitat for Humanity or the Sacred Heart Church  building fund areappreciated.

CARROLL, CHARLES FINLEY
  Mr. Charles Finley Carroll 75, of Florahome died Wednesday Sept. 21,
2011 in Palatka. Mr. Carroll was born on Aug.9, 1936 in Carroll County,
KY and had served in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the
Vietnam. Prior to retirement he was an Ink Smith for Georgia Pacific
and had been a resident of Florahome for the past 35 years moving from
Jacksonville. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his granddaughter,
Jessica Carroll and 8 siblings.  Survivors are his wife of 54 years,
Shirley Carroll, children, Patricia “Hope”  Griffith, Charlynn Tison,
Debbie Goolsby, and Christine Hengle,  siblings, Wilma Denny, Betty
Hyatt, Rev. Gary Hyatt, ten grandchildren, and nine great
grandchildren.  Funeral services for Mr. Carroll were held on Mon.,
Sept. 26, 2011 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor

CARTER, SAMUEL JACOB JR (JUNIOR)
  Mr. Samuel Jacob Carter, Jr. (Junior) was born on November 19, 1948 in
Palatka, Fla., and passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 in his Green
Cove Springs residence.  He is preceded by his father, Samuel J. Carter;
mother, Alice Deratany Carter and nephew, Daniel Smith.  He left behind
his brother, Joseph Carter; sisters, Jean Carter Dunnmon, Alice Carter
Lowder (Bobby) and Patricia Carter Adams (Patsy); aunts, Irene Dickinson
and Jo Ann Carter; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He proudly served
in the U.S. Army and was injured in the Vietnam War.  After coming home,
he was entered into the Register of Founding Sponsors of the National
Museum of the U.S. Army.  He received a Northeast FL Criminal Justice
Certificate from FL Junior College.  He was a Florida Highway Patrol
Trooper for 22 years and retired Troop G Auxiliary.  He dedicated 30
years of service to Georgia Pacific Corp. in Palatka.  In lieu of
flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,
since he was active and completed the St. Jude Campaign for a Cure for
children with cancer.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday, August 11 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Charlie Hunt

  Cassel, Esther Anna
  Ms. Esther Anna Cassel 87, of Keystone Heights passed away Saturday, December 24, 
2011 at the Shands UF Hospital in Gainesville. Ms. Cassel was born on February 17, 
1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late George and Johanne Casselring. She 
was a homemaker and a member of the Park of The Palms Chapel. Her husband Rev. 
Willard E. Cassel preceded her in death in 2006. Survivors are her children, Timothy, 
Martha, Mary, Rachael, and six grandchildren. Out of town graveside services will 
be held at the Coopersburg Calvary Church Cemetery in Coopersburg, PA.

CASSOUTT, PATRICIA ANN
  Ms. Patricia Ann Cassoutt, 68 of Green Cove Springs, passed peacefully
on Saturday.  She had been a resident of Clay County since 1977 and
retired from NAS Civil Service in 1998.  She was a volunteer with the
Humane Society of Northeast Florida from 1996-2004.  Survivors include
her children whom she loved so much, Scott and Angel Cassoutt, her
beloved grandchildren Cassandra Cassoutt and Austin Duffy, mother Nettie
Jackson, 2 brothers Ronald (Carolyn) Easter and Albert Easter, 2 sisters

CESARIO, NICHOLAS “NICK’ 
  Mr. Nicholas “Nick” Cesario, 56, passed away Thursday June 2, 2011. He
was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He loved fishing, hunting and
sports. He settled in Florida 10 years ago where he met the love of his
life Gertie Padgett, of Clay County, who survives him. He is also
survived by his brothers; Frank, William and Walter Cesario; his sisters
Sandra Cyr, Margaret Tetrault, Bernice Charves, and Susan Highley. We
know that our brother spent the last 10 years of his life happy. He now
is in the Kingdom of Heaven where he was promised eternal life by our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rest in peace Nick, we will see you on the

CHARTOWICH, JOHN ALEXANDER
August 23, 1923 - October 6, 2011
  John Chartowich, 88, passed away October 6, 2011 in Orange Park, FL. He was born to 
Alexander and Anna Chartowich on August 23, 1923 in Bound Brook, New Jersey. John 
married Gladys Sigmund on December 25, 1944 in Bound Brook, New Jersey. John was a 
World War II veteran. He served in the United States Marine Corps from January 8, 1942 
until January 16, 1946. He worked in Real Estate and was a Technical worker for Martin 
Marietta, a company that supplied crushed stone, sand and gravel used to build roads. 
John became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on September 1, 1968 when he joined 
the Brooksville, Florida Lodge #1676. He served as Trustee and Administrator. He was 
also a member of Cypress Moose Legion #202. John and Gladys came to Moosehaven on 
August 15, 2000. Gladys preceded him in death on April 26, 2005. A year or so after 
Glady’s death, John and a beautiful lady, whom we all loved, Ramona Harrington became 
friends and later married on December 29, 2007. She preceded him in death on August 10, 
2010. John resided at Moosehaven for 11 years. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on 
Monday October 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM followed by entombment in the Moosehaven Mausoleum. 
John is survived by his sister Mary Johnson of Orlando, FL and several nieces and nephews.

CHASTEEN, MONA JEAN
  Mrs. Mona Jean Chasteen, 76 of Green Cove Springs, Fla., passed away
Sunday, August 7, 2011.  She was a resident of Green Cove Springs for
the past 12 years having moved here from Sunrise, Fla.  She served as a
pollworker for the Clay County Supervisor of Elections precinct 600
(Russell Baptist Church) for the past 2 years.  Survivors include her
husband, James R. Chasteen, three daughters Karan (Bill) Smith, Valarie
(Charles) Griep and Angela Nobles, one brother James Bass, five
grandchildren and one great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by a

CHRISTOFFERS, PATRICIA ANN 
  Mrs. Patricia Ann Christoffers 87 of Keystone Heights passed away on 
Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in 
Gainesville. Born on October 14, 1928 in Atlanta, Ga., to the late 
Arthur W. and Pauline Crawford Harris.  She was preceded in death 
by her husband Dr. Donald M. Christoffers, her son, Don W. Christoffers,
 and her granddaughter Morgan. Survivors are her daughters, Terri 
Lindley (George) of Ponte Vedra, Gail Murrhee of Keystone Heights, and 
Cheryl Barber (David) of Alachua.  She is also survived by her six 
grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside service will be
 held on Friday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at the Keystone Heights Cemetery

Church, Randolph E.
  Randolph E. Church, age 94, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife of 
67 years, Bernice, on November 28, 2011. Born to John Herbert and Cathline Louise 
Church on June 30, 1917 in Glenolden, PA. He moved with his family to Jacksonville
when he was 6 years old. He married Bernice Chester Church on April 27, 1938. He 
worked at the Jacksonville Shipyards during WWII. After the war he was given his 
first chance working with precious metals, taught by Ted Ingle and employed

employed by others, he opened his own store selling and setting diamonds and 
other precious stones. He was a well-respected, reputable jeweler in Jacksonville 
for many years before his retirement. In 1959 Randy and Bernice moved their family 
to the Orange Park area and lived happily on 40 acres of land enjoying their growing 
children and many horses, dogs and cows. He was very active in the community and 
especially in the Orange Park United Methodist Church. After his retirement Randy 
and Bernice built a mountain home in Cashier's, NC where they spent many wonderful 
summers and made many life -long friends. In 1988 they moved to a new home they had 
built in Doctor's Inlet, FL where they lived happily together until her death in 2005. 
  He continued to live there until just weeks before his death. He was preceded in death 
by his parents, his sister Grace, brothers, John and Harold and wife Bernice. He is 
survived by his brother Charles, his son, David R. Church (Anita), his daughter Mary 
Cathline "Cathy" Church, grandchildren, Matthew D. Church and Mary Elizabeth Church 
and many extended family members and wonderful friends. Also, his special fur friend, 
Buddy, a rescue dog owned by Cathy who came for dinner every night.

Orange Park, FL on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. followed by a reception

  Robert Lee Church, lovingly known as “Bones” by family and friends
passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the age of 48 at his home in Green
Cove Springs, FL.  Robert was born Dec. 5, 1962 to Hibbert Eugene and
Shirley Ann (Fields) Church.  He was preceded in death by his father,
Hibbert “Gene” Church and his brother, Phillip Church.  Robert is
survived by his wife Pamela and her two children and one step

several years.  His hobbies were motorcycles and old cars, He lovingly
referred to his motorcycle as his “Honda-Davidson”.  He never met a
stranger and helped anyone that he could.  His granddaughters were his
“little princesses”.  Robert was a graduate of Grundy Sr. High School in

  Edward Dewey Clark, 91, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 in Orange
Park, FL. He retired as a Chief Ordinanceman the US Navy after 30 years
of dedicated and distinguished service. He served in WWII, Korea, and
Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Clark, Jr. and
grandson, Royce Hicks. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years,
Sue Clark; 2 daughters, Martha Sue Rodriguez and Myra Poindexter; 3

  James Edward Clark, 84, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away peacefully

building things out of metal and was one of the top welders in the USA.

  Mr. Walter “Wayne” Clemons 64, a lifelong resident of Starke passed away at the 
Shands Hospital in Gainesville on Wednesday October 5, 2011 following an extended 
illness. Wayne was born in Starke on August 9, 1947 to the late Walton and Marie(Knight) 
Clemons and was of the Methodist faith. He was a Bradford County High School graduate 
and he also had served in the United States Army. Prior to retirement Wayne was a 
supervisor for Seminole Electric in Palatka. His brother Dale Clemons had preceded 
him in death. Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Kathy Clemons and their son 
Matthew “Bo” Clemons and his wife Sophia. He is also survived by his siblings; 
Lamar Clemons and his wife Jane, John Clemons and his wife Libby, Joy Thornton 
and her husband Rudy, a sister in laws; Linda Clemons of Starke, and Brenda Seeley 
(George) of Lawtey, brother-in-law: Doug Jones of Portland, OR, two grandchildren; 
Tristen and Mattie all of Starke. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Clevenger, Charles "Chuck" 
  Charles “Chuck” Clevenger, 70, of Middleburg, FL, passed away March 27, 2012. He 
was born on June 19, 1941 in Barnsley, KY to parents Herman and Mae Clevenger. Mr. 
Clevenger was a Vietnam War Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, having retired from 
the United States Marine Corps. He had worked as a supervisor for Lakes Construction 
and moved to the Clay County area from Switzerland, FL in 1998. He was a member of 
the American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose and the VFW. He was of the Baptist 
faith and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Mr. Clevenger was preceded in death by his 
parents and is survived by his wife, Patricia Clevenger; sons, Kenneth Clevenger, 
David Davidson (Patricia), Donald Davidson (Melissa) and Daniel Davidson (Kathy); 
daughters, Tabatha Parker (PJ), Nita McLendon (Sam) and Donna Householder; siblings,

fan who loved to watch high school sports.

  U.S. Veteran Russell Coleman, 60, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away 
Monday, October 17, 2011. He was born on September 22, 1951 in Grundy, VA 
to parents, Corbett and Ruby Jean Coleman. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and 
Purple Heart recipient, serving his country in the United States Marine 
Corps. He had worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Green Cove 
Springs Church of God. Russell loved motorcycles and was a former member 
of the St. Augustine H.O.G. Chapter. He loved his trucks and especially loved 
his family and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Corbett 
Coleman and is survived by his mother, Ruby Jean McMillan; his wife, Ninetta 
Coleman; daughters, Crystal Lynn Coleman and Tiffany Faith Coleman; brothers,

had been elected the 10th best pen and ink artist in the world.   He
also enjoyed applying his artistic knowledge in his stonework. Survivors

   Mrs. Angela Sue Dryden Cook age 51, a lifelong resident of Keystone Heights passed 
away at the Shands at Starke on Friday, August 10, 2012 following injuries she had 
sustained in a car accident.  Mrs. Cook was born on July 2, 1961 in North Kingstown, 
Rhode Island, and had attended the Keystone Heights Church of Christ. She enjoyed being 
a caregiver, working in her yard with flowers, gardening, being on the water and having 
fun and good times. She would also do as much as she could for anyone in need.  Her

was reading, especially her Bible, and playing with her great-grandkids.
The Coon family lived in Florala, AL for about 20 years before moving to
Green Cove Springs, FL, where her husband worked at the Jacksonville
Shipyard until he retired. She lived in Florida until her homegoing on
May 29, 2011. Graveside services were held Friday, June 3 at North Creek

COON, ERMEL IMOGENE 
  Mrs. Ermel Imogene Coon, 72, passed away on Sunday April 17, 2011 in 
Jacksonville, Fla. She was born on February 18, 1939 in Grundy, Va.,
 to Stanford “Zeke” and Carrie Boyd Branham. She 
was a communicant of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Green Cove Springs, a
 member of the Elks Club and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She had retired 
from Georgia Pacific after over forty years of service and enjoyed 
traveling and painting. She was predeceased by her father Stanford 
“Zeke” Branham and is survived by her mother, Carrie D. Branham of 
Palatka; son, Calvin Thomas (Karen) Coon II of Green Cove Springs; 
daughter, Martha Kathalene Coon of Green Cove Springs; granddaughter, 
Christina (Matthew) Jacobs of Moultrie, Ga.; grandson, Zack Thomas Coon 
II of Green Cove Springs; brothers, James Willard Branham of Green Cove 
Springs; Harold C. (Betty) Branham of Chiply, Fla.; sisters, LaVern (JC)
 Campbell of Ashford, Ala.; Loretha (Dane) Anderson of Elizabethton, 
Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be buried in the

  Evelyn B. Cooper, 93, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Sunday,
September 4, 2011.  She was born on October 5, 1917 in Clay County,
Florida to parents Charles and Idell Moody Priest. Mrs. Cooper was a
life long resident of Clay County. She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs and was very active in her
community and in Real Estate. She was a member of the Green Cove Springs
Elks Lodge 1892, the Democratic Party and active in her local
government. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Green Cove
Springs Garden Club. Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her husband
Joe Cooper and she is survived by her daughter, Linda (John) Long;

  Brenda Joyce Corley, 70 of Middleburg, FL died Thursday, September 15,
2011 at her residence.  Brenda was originally from Atlanta and had been
a resident of Clay County since 1968.  Survivors include her husband
Robert J. Corley III, two sons Robert (Martha) Corley IV and Russell E.
(Denise) Corley, one daughter S. Leigh Corley, one brother Robert F.
(Virginia) Saine, one brother-in-law Don L. (Nettie) Corley, two

  Rosemary S. “Rosey” Coward, 65, of Orange Park, passed from this life to heaven 
on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at a local hospital after a short illness. Rosemary 
was born on August 12, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Frank Sodek, Jr. 
and Mary Ruth Thompson Sodek. Mrs. Coward was a member of Russell Baptist Church and 
retired as an office manager for Southeasten Stainless. She was preceded in death by
her father, Frank Sodek, Jr., and is survived by her mother, Ruth Thompson Sodek 
Crouse of Jacksonville, FL, her husband of 18 years, Michael Coward of Orange Park, 
FL, three brothers Frank (Vera) Sodek , III of Alachua, FL, William H. Sodek of 
Gainesville, FL and Gary A. (Debby) Sodek of Melbourne, FL, three children, Robert 
(Julia) Painter of Jacksonville, Thomas Scott Painter of Jacksonville, FL and Michele

 Cox, Elmer Dean
  Elmer Dean Cox, 77, of Green Cove Springs, passed away November 18, 2011. He was 
born on July 12, 1934 in Harriman, TN to Rev. James and Argest Cox. He was a 
long-time member of Green Cove Springs Congregational Holiness Church in Green 
Cove Springs where he played the guitar and sang. His love of music began as a 
child. It is said that when he was only in the fourth grade, he performed songs 
on the guitar for his fourth grade class many times. Two of the songs that were 
regularly enjoyed by the church were “I Come to the Garden Alone” and “I’m Using 
My Bible for a Road Map.” His passion was fishing the St. Johns River and he 
loved to tell fishing stories. He could be counted on for a good joke and was 
known as a good friend, loving husband excellent father, and doting grandfather. 
  He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, James H. Cox, Jr. and Johnny Cox 
and a sister, Bernice Mathis. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, 
Pauline Cox; son, Larry (Peggy) Cox; daughters, Brenda (Rev. Ronnie) Surrency, 
Delorese (Rev. Joe) Foster and Paula (David) Francis; sister, Argest Kathleen 
Butcher; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.

Cramer, Samuel
(May 11, 1942 - December 5, 2011)
U.S. Veteran
  Samuel Cramer, 69, went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 2011. He was born 
in Carnegie, PA on May 11, 1942 to parents, Samuel and Helen Cramer. He was one 
of eight children and joined the United States Navy at 17 years old. He traveled 
the world and retired after 24 years of service as a Master Chief. Having lived 
in Jacksonville for 18 years, he found a piece of Heaven in Lake Asbury. He was 
married to Mary, the love of his life, for 47 years. His pride and joy were his 
family which includes his children, James Cramer (Carey) and Heather Parker 
(Milton); his mother, Helen Cramer; mother-in-law, Nadine Steffan and his 
grandchildren, Ben, Daniel and Cameron. Samuel was a member of Abundant Life 
Christian Fellowship where his love of the Lord opened his heart to the food 
and clothing ministry and enabled him to help many people. He enjoyed riding 
his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and he will be greatly missed by his many friends 
and church family. He always said he wanted to be known as a good man and he 
was that, a “good man”, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Abundant

  Christine Crews, beloved mother and grandmother passed away March 12, 2012. She was 
a member of First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs, a Sunday school teacher 
since 1953, VIA Devotion Chairman for 19 years was active in Sonshine Via De Cristo 
and Lay Witness Mission, and a certified Lay Speaker. She moved to Florida from
Coffeyville, Kansas in 1939. Mrs. Crews and her husband ran a small farm for 36 years,
raising beef cattle and chickens. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 15, at

  Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Cribbs 84, of Starke passed

years and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband; 3 
children; 1 grandchild, and 2 great grandchildren.  Her survivors

CRISTELLO, JAMES “POPS”
  Mr. James “Pops” Cristello, 76, of Orange Park, Fla., passed away
Sunday, June 12, 2011. Born to Dominick and Catherine (Carmelonga)
Cristello in Dobbs Ferry, NY, he served in the U.S. Army and was
honorably discharged in 1963. He also served as a volunteer Firefighter
and Assistant Chief in Tarrytown and Bloomingburg, NY. He moved to
Orange Park in 1981. He attended Pinewood Presbyterian Church and
started Reliable Maintenance Service with his son Jim, Jr. He is loved
by many and his big smile and fun loving nature will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Dominic, Frank,
and Pete; and sisters: Vicky and Terry. He is survived by his wife,
Sunny Cristello; children, James Jr. and Jeff “Lump” Cristello; Lynne
Wiltsie; and Tiffany Baker; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Allison Baker;
Jenna and Joey Wiltsie; Kenny and Danny Cristello; brothers, Joseph and
Robert Cristello in Fla.; and sister, Kay in Ga.  A celebration of life
will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the family home.

CROSBY, MAYNELLE R.
  Mrs. Maynelle R. Crosby, 76, passed away, Thursday, June 23, 2011. She
was born in Alabama and had lived in Middleburg since 1982.  She was
married 48 years to the late Clifford T. Crosby and is survived by her
son, Clifford P. Crosby (Anna); sister, Rebecca “Becky” Caragine (Paul);
two grandchildren, Clifford Paul “P.J.” Crosby, Jr. and Brian Allen
Crosby; great-aunt, Virginia “Jency” Hamrick; brother-in-law, Joe Crosby
(LaVerne).  Funeral service was held Tuesday, June 28 in the Chapel of
Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Rd. Middleburg, Fla., 32068.

 Crouse, Margit Doris
  Margit Doris Crouse (Mom), 80, of Jacksonville, beloved mother of six children, 
five daughters and sons in-law, 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and 
one very loyal cat, passed away November 18, 2011. Mom was caring and generous 
to everyone in her life, a simple yet exceptionally bright and high-spirited 
lady with an amazing life story. Born in the Czech Republic and raised in Germany, 
  Mom survived daily bombings during World War II and later became a stage actress 
for the City Theater of Passau, where she performed to numerous sold-out houses 
before marrying Blake Crouse (who passed away in 1996) and moving to the U.S. 
  Her parents were Walther and Zdenka Schubert, two figures who stood strong in 
WWII Germany by refusing to join the Nazi party. Years after grandpa Walther had 
passed away, grandma Zdenka followed Mom to Florida, where they remained very 
close until grandma passed away. Mom will be remembered as a beautiful and wonderful 
mother, lovingly devoted to the family she created, and memories of her will be 
forever cherished by the lives lucky enough to have been touched by her. Mom is 
survived by sons, Robert and his wife Cathi, Richard and his wife Terri, Michael 
and his wife Mary; daughters, Carol, Linda and her husband Robert Wingate, Debbie 
and her husband Brian Grogg; grandchildren, Sarah, Robby, Mandy, Sarah Ann, Alex, 
Jessi, Chris, Brett, Brooke, Tyler, Justin and Connor; great-grandchildren, Lil 
Chris and Nevaeh; and her beloved and fiercely protective cat, Heidi. 
  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 
Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL where she will be laid to rest next to 
her late husband.

Crutchfield, Chad 
(April 16, 1972 - March 25, 2012)
  Chad Amic Crutchfield passed away Sunday morning, March 25th, 2012. In his last 
days, he was surrounded by many loving friends and family. His wife and great 
friend, Hooch, held his hands until Chad's 17 month battle with leukemia came to 
an end. He is finally at peace.
  Chad was an employee of Miller Electric as a union electrician for the last 22 years.
 He was the most amazing husband, father, sibling, son and friend. His valiant 
spirit and positive attitude through this journey inspired all that has had the 
pleasure of having him in their lives.
  He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Crutchfield. His children: beautiful 
daughters, Madison and Kalei Crutchfield, handsome son, Nathan Crutchfield and 
stepson, Brandon Blansit. His parents: Kelly and Jackie Crutchfield and June

  Elizabeth Csiszar, 89, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011. 
  She was born on July 28, 1922 in Hetin, Yugoslavia to parents, Istvan and Rozalia 
Olah. Mrs. Csiszar was a homemaker and moved to Ohio from Yugoslavia in 1970. She 
moved to the local area in 1985 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church 
on Fleming Island. Mrs. Csiszar loved gardening and domestic animals. She was 
familiar with the farm life and was a hard working woman. She dearly loved her 
family who will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents and 
by her husband, Antal Csiszar. She is survived by her sons, Steve Csiszar (Margaret) 
and Antal Csiszar, Jr. (Barbara); daughter, Valerie Molnar; grandchildren, Steve, 
Jr. (Mary), Csilla (Chris), Maria (Jason), Tony (Beth), Attila (Jackie), Michael (

CUSHEY, DENNIS R.
  Dennis R Cushey passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011.  He grew up
in Ohio and was a longtime resident of Orange Park.  He taught school in
Clay County for many years and also worked at the dog track after he
retired from teaching. He will be sadly missed by his family  and his
many friends.  Memorial services will be held at St Catherine’s Catholic church on 
Saturday September 24th @11 am.
