Mr. Paul W. Kampen, 70, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at Moosehaven in Orange Park, Fla. He was born to William and Lean Kampen on June 27, 1940 in Stephenson County, IL. He married Lois Euler on October 3, 1978. She preceded him in death on April 22, 1997. He worked as a dishwasher for Freeport, IL School District retiring in 2004. He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on November 20, 1989 when he joined the Freeport, IL Lodge #162. He came to Moosehaven on August 3, 2005 where he resided for 5 years. Mr. Stephen Richard Karycinski, age 38, of Keystone Heights, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at his home. He was born on November 8, 1972 in New Brunswick, NJ. Mrs. Barbara L. Kasel, 85, passed away Friday May 20, 2011 at her Middleburg residence with her beloved husband by her side. She was born on April 29, 1926 in Manchester, CT to Leslie A. and Gertrude “Mollie” Stevenson. She loved snow-skiing, tennis and was a Master Knitter. She was a homemaker and had resided in Middleburg since 1986. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Leslie C. Stevenson; and sisters, Doris Stevenson, Arlene Ostrout and Eleanor McShea. Survivors include her devoted husband of 64 years, Leo R. KEIM, JOSEPH “JOE”
Mr. Joseph “Joe” Keim, 79, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 in Orange Park, Fla. He was born to Frank and Stella Keim on February 29, 1932 in Mahoney Plane, PA. He served in the Army Air Force from June 13, 1949 to November 6, 1959, during the Korean Conflict, as a Staff Sergeant. He received a Combat Infantry Badge, a Purple Heart, Corpsman Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He married Dorothy Shephard on June 11, 1956 in Reading, PA. They had a daughter, Dawn, and two sons, Michael and Mark. He worked for Honeywell as a field engineer for many years retiring in 1987. Joe is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Michael (Theresa) Keim of Westminster, MD and Mark Keim of Gettysburg, PA; daughter, Dawn (Graham) Wright of Manchester, MD; granddaughter, Britteney (Gary) Fritz of Littlestown, PA; grandson, Nolan Keim and great grandson, Ryan. KEITH, DORIS KNOWLES
Doris Knowles Keith, 74, died quietly Thursday, March 14, 2013. Mrs. Keith was a native and long time resident of the Green Cove Springs area and was granddaughter of Emmanuel Knowles. She graduated from Clay High School and retired as a trainer for telephone operators for both BellSouth and AT&T in 1994. She was a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 295 and Daughters of the Nile Khem Temple No. 85. Her husband described her as a “fantastic” wife and someone who worked behind the scenes to make sure everything was right. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Russell Keith, son, Brian (Elizabeth) Keith, daughter, Lessea Davis, brother, Ralph Knowles, Jr. three grandchildren, Gardner, Benjamin and Isabel. During a quiet family gathering, she will be laid to rest among her deceased family members Monday, March 18, 2013 in the Heritage Section of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery with Rev. Mr. John Anthony Keller, 78, of Middleburg, Fla., passed away Monday, July 4, 2011. He was born on January 9, 1933 in Michigan, IN to parents, Claude and Nora Keller. He was retired from the United States Navy and had served his country during the Korean War and Vietnam War Era. He had worked as an electronics technician and had lived in the Middleburg area since 1989, moving here from Indiana. He was a Class of 1951 graduate from John Adams High School in South Bend, IN as well as a graduate of Holy Cross College in Notre Dame, IN. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, the St. Luke’s Catholic Church Outreach Ministry and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Zerbe Keller; sons, John A. Keller (Ann), Timothy P. Keller (Sherry) and Christopher J. Keller (Debbie); daughter, Kimberly A. Mr. Russell B. Kelly, 94, passed away Thursday May 19, 2011. He was born in Tift County, Ga. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years, serving in 3 wars, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, worked for Civil Service for 10 years, was an active member of Jax Square Dancing Assoc. for 30 years and was a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Ada Kelly and is survived by 3 daughters, Pat Cameron McCabe, Sue Street and Nancy Kempe, brother Richard Kelly, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. KEMP, MELISSA KAYE
Melissa Kaye Kemp of Green Cove Springs, FL passed on to be with her Lord and Savior “Jesus Christ” after a short and sudden illness. She was born here at Green Cove Memorial Hospital and from there grew into a beautiful Angel. She married the love of her life on May 22, 1987 and again July 4, 2010. They were Soul mates from the day they met in January 1986. Missy was the primary caregiver to our daughter, Jessica. She was preceded in death by stepfather, Joel Black, father, William Wiseman and sister, Valerie Wilkes. She is survived by her husband Robert K. Kemp “Kenny”; daughter, Jessica Joelene Paige Kemp; mother, Anne Carlisle; brother, Billy Wiseman; sister, Jamie Adams (Rick); mother –in-law, Alice Kemp; father-in-law, Robert K. Kent, John Henderson
John Henderson Kent, Sr., 82, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. He was born in Lynchburg, VA and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; John has lived in Jacksonville since 1950. He served full-time for 38 years with the Florida Air National Guard, along with active duty in the United States Air Force. He was a long-time member of Cedar Hills Baptist Church, where he had served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, as well as on many committees. John is survived by his wife and partner of 63 years, Evelyn Blanche Hayman Kent; sister, Romola (Clair) Eaton; daughter, Mary Forrest; son, John H. Kent, Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda Forrest and Aaron Forrest; great-grandchildren, Dillon Arthur and Ian Edmonson with extended family including three nieces and four nephews. Mr. James Edward Kersey, Jr., 74, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 in Orange Park, Florida. He was born on August 14, 1936 in Green Cove Springs to James Sr. & Dorothy Kersey. He was a retired truck driver, was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the N.R.A. He was known to enjoy spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Kersey; his mother, Dorothy Valentine; sons, Kevin (Laura), Keith (Carla) and Kent (Linda) Kersey; daughter, Kim (Jeff) Carlier; brothers, Doug and Jack Kersey; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and longtime friend, Loretta Thompson. KIGHT, SGT. EDWARD "SONNY", CCSO RET.
Sgt. Edward "Sonny" Kight, CCSO, Ret., 70, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009. He was born on April 8, 1938, in Douglas, Ga., and had lived in the Middleburg area for most of his life. He honorably served in The United States Marine Corps for two years. Following his military service he worked for Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for eleven years, then for Green Cove Springs Police Department; later he retired from The Clay County Sheriff’s Office after twenty two years of dedicated service. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police and enjoyed music, camping, and boating in his leisure time. Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Ira Lynwood Kight, Sr., and by two brothers, Fred and Gary Kight. He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Lisa (Michael) Seymour and Susie (Robby) Midgett; his mother, Louise Goodman; four brothers and sisters, Carolyn (Harold) Canady; Ira Kight, Jr.; Benny Kight; and Nan (Jim) Couch; and seven grandchildren, Christopher; Mason; Cody; Kyle; Cade; Jessica; and Justin. Ms. Rose Margaret King, 69, of Lake Butler, passed away May 12, 2012 in Gainesville. Ms. King was born February 6, 1943 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Jack and Bessie (Hunter) Thompson. She was a longtime Homemaker and of the Christian Faith. KITTLE, WILLIAM “BERT”
Mr. William “Bert” Kittle passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011. He was born in Weston, West Virginia and graduated from Glenville State Teacher’s College in 1937. He taught in an one-room schoolhouse in the mountains of West VA until WW II. He joined the Army Air Corp and became a co-pilot flying B-17 bombers out of Lavenham, UK (England). He was a lieutenant with the 487th Bomb Group, 838th Squadron until 1945. After the war he went to work for the Navy as a civilian in Norfolk, VA, then transferred to Washington, DC in 1952 and worked for the National Archives as an Information Systems Analyst, GS-15. He retired after 35 years and eventually moved to Orange Park, FL in 1997. Bert is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Jenny Kittle, his daughter, Madeline Perry of Orange Park and four grandchildren: Brian Perry of Orange Park, Diron Perry of Jacksonville, Cynthia Peters of Manhattan, KS and Steven Troy Kittle of Alexandria, VA. He was preceded in death by his son Stephen Kittle also of Orange Park. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Knight, Charles “Charlie” Henry
Charles “Charlie” Henry Knight, 78, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away January 2, 2013. He was born on October 28, 1934 in Danville, VA to parents Charlie and Ann Knight. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy and had worked in quality control at the Metal Container Corp. Mr. Knight had been a Boy Scout leader for Troop #302 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jacksonville and loved his animals. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Shirley B. Knight and by his son, Adrian Lee Knight. Survivors include his son, Chuck Knight (Mary); daughter, Dorenda Dyal (Bobby); 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. Daniel M. Knight, 79, of Orange Park, Fla., passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011. He was born on May 2, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to Leon and Gertrude Roller Knight. He moved to the Orange Park area in 1980 coming from Ft. Lauderdale. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, 11th Airborne, during the Korean conflict. Daniel was self employed working in sales. He enjoyed collecting stamps and loved writing and telling stories to his family and friends. “Papa”, as he was known to his grandchildren, had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a devoted family man who will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lilajean Knight; daughter, Laurie Monica Knight Soucy; sister, Milicent Bristrowitz; grandchildren, Michael J. KNUTSON, LINDA CAROL
Ms. Linda Carol Knutson born October 3, 1953 to Clifford and Marion Knutson passed away Sunday May 8, 2011 after bravely battling a long illness. She graduated from Orange Park High School in 1971 but has been residing in Grand Canyon, AZ for 30 years. She is survived by her mother, sister, Julie West and brothers, Gregory, Douglas and Carl. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Paul.

Koerner, JoAnn Colleen (Bullock)
JoAnn Colleen (Bullock) Koerner, 77, formerly of Fruitland and Palatka, died peacefully with her family surrounding her on Feb. 18, 2013 at Orange Park Medical Center. Born Jan. 16, 1936 to Alvin and Yolanda Strand in Anoka, Minn., “Jo” lived in Erskine, Minn., and graduated from Anoka High School in 1954 where she played clarinet in the marching band and was also a cheerleader. She is a retired secretary from Barnett Bank in Jacksonville and worked a short while with Miller Enterprises in Crescent City before permanently retiring to her home in Fruitland. Moving to Palatka in the early 2000s, Jo loved to play Bingo, watching golf and tennis on television and visiting with her family and great-grandchildren who were a constant joy in her life. Preceding her in death are her parents; a son, Dana “Danny” L. Smith and husband, Gustav Albert “Al” Koerner. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Colleen Taylor; loving granddaughters, Shannan (Justin) Crews and Lisa Beth Voegel-Drescher; her beautiful great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jerrid and Barrett, all of Palatka; devoted siblings: Yvonne (Darrell) Bistadeau of Wisconsin; Duane Strand and Kathy (Tom) Hruby; and favorite aunt, Ila Mahlen all of Minnesota; and uncle, Stanley (Marilyn) Bradley of Wisconsin; as well as half-sisters, Vivian and Judy; and other family and friends from Minnesota to Florida. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 8 at Jacksonville Memorial Gardens in Orange Park with Pastor Garry Taylor of First Baptist Church of San Mateo officiating. Mr. James P. Kralisz, 64, passed away Saturday August 6, 2011. He was born in Buffalo, NY and had lived in Orange Park, Fla., for 18 years. He was a Navy veteran and a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Kralisz, son Alan Kralisz, daughter Tracy Kralisz, 2 sisters, Janice Vitez and Patricia Sugg and 1 granddaughter, Caroline Kralisz. Kreitzer, Michelle Lynn
Michelle Lynn Kreitzer, 45, of Middleburg, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. She was born on May 26, 1967 in Minot, ND to parents Michael Curtis and Lorraine Rowe McPhearson. She was a resident of Middleburg, FL and a graduate of Middleburg High School. Michelle is of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Pinewood Presbyterian Church. She was the Children’s Librarian at the Green Cove Springs Library for 8 years. Michelle was an avid animal lover who will always be remembered as a good hearted loving person. Her greatest joy in life was becoming a Grandma to three beautiful grandchildren. Michelle will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Mike Kreitzer; father, Michael McPhearson (Dorothy); daughters, Nicole Kreitzer and Hannah Kreitzer (Chris Wills); grandchildren, Adrianna, Aiden and Elijah and many extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Pinewood Presbyterian Church with Pastor J.D. Funyak officiating. Krokus, Corinne
Corinne Lukowski-Krokus, 65, of Orange Park passed away on January 16, 2012 after a 3-year battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by family. She was born on December 16, 1946 in Bayonne, NJ to Edward Lukowski, Sr. and Harriet Joswick-Lukowski. Corinne graduated from St. Basil's High School in 1964, and later attended Marywood College. Corinne served many years in the Food & Beverage industry, most notably at the Enlisted and Chief's Clubs at NAS Cecil Field. Her dedication and service to the military resulted in her being named an Honorary Chief. She also enjoyed the beach, spending time with her family, shopping, and playing Bingo and Poker. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Steve Krokus, Sr.; her 3 daughters, Stacey Aderhold-Stafford, Kristin Aderhold-Fincher, and Michelle Justice; her son, Steven Krokus, Jr.; her 2 son-in-laws, Shannon Stafford and Jeff Fincher; her daughter-in-law, Danielle Krokus; her 2 sisters, Germaine Lukowski-Donahue and Karen Lukowski-Leidy; her brother, Edward Lukowski, Jr.; her 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her loving spirit will forever be missed. A celebration mass will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1pm at St. Luke's Catholic Church 1606 Blanding Blvd., Middleburg, FL 32068.
